Obama on executive orders 2008 vs 2014

Imagine that

He actually thought he had a legislative branch that was worth a bucket of piss

What a fool

sorry but blaming the Legislative branch isnt really going to work.

If he had a Congress that was capable of the most basic functions without a crisis hanging over its head, he would not have to issue more executive orders
As it is, he has issued fewer by far than any recent President

Hopefully, that will change shortly

Does a do nothing Congress warrant a do nothing President?

the crisis is all for show. Nobody is really forcing him to Create Eo's at all. Is he doing these because Congress is basically sitting there? Yes. Does he have to? No.

Maybe in 2008 he didn't realize what dicks the Republicans were

No doubt. It seems to be an established pattern that there appears to be a LOT he doesn't know about. :eusa_whistle:

Pointless post. Obama PROMISED to STOP the expansion of the executive branch. He has done the opposite. The executive branch now dictates to everyday Americans.

the facts don't bear that out (see the chart). He said that he WOULD seek alternative pathways if the Repubs continue their "stonewall" tactics. McConnell's nickname should be "Stonewall McConnell"

He sits next to Obstructionist Reid.

What do you think Bushes signing statements where when he defined torture?

I must have missed the part in those two videos where Bush promised to rein in the executive branch. Could you point them out to me please?

Why can't Obama be judged on his own merit & words? Why must you all always point at Bush? Bush did a lot of stupid shit but he didn't blame Clinton, nor is he anylonger president.

Well now you're just talking like a raaaaacccciiiisssstttt!!!

If he actually had a freaking clue what the constitution says.....like he claims to.....he would know that it is a two way street. He's the one holding out. It's his way or none. That is an historical fact that congressional members of his own party have complained about. He thinks that being elected president means he can dictate.

Sorry, I was channeling the liberal "go to" phrase when all else fails.

What part of executive orders are unconstitutional?

What part of executive orders are unconstitutional?

When they bypass signed legislation.

Name one

Says you. The man signed a piece of legislation into law following the constitutional model for how our government is supposed to function. Then he starts deciding which pieces of it he wants to change, delay or not enforce at all. Point to the part of the constitution that says the president gets to ignore or change legislation he doesn't like. Not there. Congress can create new legislation to change it and he can sign it, but he doesn't get to rule by fiat.

Think it is unconstitutional?

We have these things called courts to prove it

Go for it
