Here is what Trumps' White House press secretary said about Comey's firing:

We want this to come to its conclusion, we want it to come to its conclusion with integrity,” deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said about the FBI’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. “And we think that we’ve actually, by removing Director Comey, taken steps to make that happen.”

“We want this to come to its conclusion”: White House delivers smoking gun on James Comey’s firing

Boom! Obstruction.

you don't know what you are talking about....

Liberal Dershowitz on Trump: It's Not 'Obstruction,' There's No 'Crime'

Constitutional scholar and former Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, said -- in reference to ex-FBI Director James Comey's statment to Congress about President Donald Trump -- that the president could have ordered Comey to end the investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and it would not have constituted "obstruction of justice," it would not have been "a crime."

---------

Dershowitz, also a criminal law expert and the author of more than 30 books, said, “The president could have told Comey, you are commanded, directed, to drop the prosecution against Flynn. The president has the right to do that. Comey acknowledges that. He says in the statement that historically, historically presidents have done that to the Justice Department."

-----

"You cannot have obstruction of justice when the president exercises his constitutional authority to pardon, his constitutional authority to fire the director of the FBI, or his constitutional authority to tell the director of the FBI who to prosecute, who not to prosecute," he said.

-----

"I'm talking about, was there an obstruction of justice?" said Dershowitz. "I have to tell you, and I wonder if you would agree with me, Jeffrey, if you and I will focus expert witnesses in an impeachment trial of President Trump, and we were asked the question, has President Trump committed an obstruction of justice by pardoning Flynn, or by firing Comey, or by telling Comey not to investigate Flynn, my answer as an expert on the Constitution would be absolutely not."

"He didn't commit an obstruction of justice," said Dershowitz. "Now you, Congress, you can impeach him if you don't like what he did, if you think it's obstructionist, or would be an obstruction if he wasn't the president. But you cannot say it's a crime."

He did one better. He fired Comey.

That stopped Comey's investigation in its tracks.

Then Trump called the Russians into his office and they all had a big laugh about it.

He fired the man who has been exposing our attacks!

Ehhhhh...heh heh...
You seriously believe by firing Comey, the investigation stopped?
That was what Trump was trying to do. And that is obstruction.

The investigation was stopped in its tracks. Until Mueller was appointed some time later.

I'm sure you've heard the pseudocons claiming after Comey's testimony that the obstruction charge is dead.

I've pointed out that even though they have clicked their heels together three times, it isn't.
The investigation was stopped in its tracks.
Comey wasn't doing the investigation, it continued after he was fired.

or, do you seriously believe that every time the FBI Director is fired or replaced, the FBI shuts down?

are you really that big a fool?
You fools are all missing the point.

The obstruction goes to Trump's intent. He fired Comey over "this Russia thing".

He went beyond ordering Comey to stop investigating. He FIRED Comey to get him to stop investigating. Just because Trump was too stupid to realize that would only make things worse for himself does not take away anything from my point.

Trump pwned himself.

It doesn't matter.......he could say comey was wasn't wearing a Trump tie and fire him.....The President is the boss, he determines what is and isn't to be investigated......he fired comey because comey is an ass......and the democrats all wanted him fired till Trump fired him......
No, the President doesn't get to obstruct justice. Just ask Nixon, fool.

He's talking based on what has been thus far proven, which leaves many questions unanswered. The question is what happens if Trump continues to try to shut down the Flynn or other investigation, and THAT'S when Trump crosses the threshhold of obstruction of justice.

Trump didn't try to shut down the Flynn investigation....comey, mcgruber, rosenstein, and the head of the DNI, NSA all said there was no attempt to stop the investigation on either the criminal or intelligence level...and comey stated..under oath, that Trump told him to go after anyone in his circle who may have committed crimes.......

He didn't even come close to seeing a threshold, let alone crossing one...

And as Dershowitz points out...Trump could simply order them to stop investigating Flynn...he is the boss and has control over the Department of Justice and the FBI....

Does not colluding with Russia make Trump guilty of obstruction of justice? We all know that Putin acted on his own when he used his Vote Flipping Mind Control ray on voters in FL, WI, and the other states that rightfully belonged to St Hillary. Then, because he's got a weird sense of humor, he reversed the polarity and used it in CA to give Hillary a win in the "popular vote"

Does the fact that Comey is a Clinton sock puppet and that there is no evidence of collusion mean that Trump must be guilty -- of something?

Everyone knows that the goal posts were moved on Hillary Clinton's side of the field. Comey disregarded long standing DOJ protocol--of not releasing information within 60 days of an election, was warned not to do it and did it anyway within 11 days of an election. Millions of people voted during those 7 days believing that charges were imminent against Hillary Clinton, and 7 days later Comey gave birth to his nothing burger. In fact that is the reason that Comey is also under investigation for his interference into this election. Trump originally used what Comey did to Hillary Clinton as the reason he fired Comey. Because Rod Rosenstein Deputy Attorney General ran over Comey for what he did to Hillary Clinton- in his report- and given to Trump. Trump used that report to fire Comey.

And it sure didn't help TRUMP'S case when he went on NBC with Lester Holt and admitted to Obstructiion of Justice.

"Donald Trump has said he was thinking of “this Russia thing” when he decided James Comey’s fate – contradicting the White House rationale that he fired the FBI director for mishandling the Clinton email investigation. Comey had been leading an investigation into possible collusion between Trump advisers and Russian officials when he was dismissed by the president. Defending that decision in an interview on NBC News on Thursday, Trump said: “And, in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said: ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.’”

. Everything is connected to the Russia thing, but the problem is that there was no collusion, so everything built up off of that is null and void. Problem now is that no one wants to clear all the dust kicked up because of the bullcrap (collusion premise), because to much money is being made off of the bullcrap and witch hunt lies found in it all. Trump hasn't truly assumed the powerful role of the President of this nation, because the Demon-crats are successfully keeping him from that role. It's time for Trump to assume the role as president, and quit being drug down into the gutter.

We do not know if there is collusion or not at this point in time. But we have a lot of things that are indicating it. Regardless our Justice department is to remain independent of the Executive and Legislative branch. The President can't pick and choose--nor interfere into investigations that they are doing.

"There's no criminal investigation? You just passed up a link that told you this was a criminal investigation. This turned into a criminal investigation on May 17, 2017.

"Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday said it’s clear that after Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein briefed the Senate on the investigation into Russian involvement in the presidential election that it has become a criminal probe.

“The shock to the body is that this is now a criminal investigation,” Graham (R-SC) told reporters moments after he exited the Senate chamber.

He said now that it has become a criminal investigation instead of an counterintelligence probe Congress may be impeded in carrying out its own examinations.

“You’ve got a special counsel who has prosecutorial powers now, and I think we in Congress have to be very careful not to interfere,” Graham said. “Public access to this is probably going to be very limited now. It’s going to really limit what the public will know about this.”

Rosenstein also told the Senators that he knew that Trump was planning to dump FBI Director James Comey before he wrote the memo criticizing him for his handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

This is what we know so-far:

They don't move from congressional probes into criminal investigations without evidence of a crime being committed.

If Republicans can do 8 investigations into Benghazi, it's not hard to imagine what Democrats will do with Treason, Obstruction & Lies when they take over in 2018.

So Republicans have two options:
1. Remove Trump from office asap or
2. Burn the entire party down in 2018--2020 & beyond.

Except, you're wrong , there's no criminal investigation. Sorry sandy
. No collusion, no crimes. It all falls.

Nope just like a courtroom where a defendent can be charged with several different crimes--found guilty of one, innocent of another--etc. etc. Obstruction of Justice is a stand alone crime, and is not dependent on being found guilty of any other crime.

DEFINITION OF OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
"Whoever knowingly alters, destroys, mutilates, conceals, covers up, falsified, or makes a false entry in any record, document, or tangible object with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence the investigation or proper administration of any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of the United States or any case filed under Title 11, or in relation to or contemplation of any such matter or case, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both."

You have not elected a King or Dictator. Trump swore an oath to the U.S. Constitution--and he will be treated like any other citizen when it comes to criminal acts.

Nixon tried the same thing--firing people who knew too much-- and it didn't end well for him.

In the most traumatic government upheaval of the Watergate crisis, President Nixon yesterday discharged Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox and accepted the resignations of Attorney General Elliot L. Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William D. Ruckelshaus. The President also abolished the office of the special prosecutor and turned over to the Justice Department the entire responsibility for further investigation and prosecution of suspects and defendants in Watergate and related cases.

Once again...I ask the pertinent question here...DID DONALD TRUMP ORDER JAMES COMEY TO STOP THE INVESTIGATION?
He did one better. He fired Comey.

That stopped Comey's investigation in its tracks.

Then Trump called the Russians into his office and they all had a big laugh about it.

traitor_4.jpg

He fired the man who has been exposing our attacks!

This guy is our best useful idiot ever!

Ehhhhh...heh heh...

Interesting. You now claim that Trump firing Comey stopped the investigation into Russian collusion in it's tracks when Comey was canned? So would you like to explain why the second in command at the FBI stated under oath that the investigation was moving forward?
He stated that today.

At the time Comey was fired, that stopped the investigation.

Not until Mueller was appointed did it start moving again. And that is why Trump and his Chumps are now attacking Mueller.

So the new head of the FBI was lying when he stated under oath that no investigation had been stopped because James Comey had been fired? Is that what you're now claiming? I can show you video of him stating that the work of the FBI doesn't stop because one person is no longer there. Can you show me any proof whatsoever that investigations into collusion stopped?

OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE IS DEFINED AS THIS:

Whoever knowingly alters, destroys, mutilates, conceals, covers up, falsified, or makes a false entry in any record, document, or tangible object with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence the investigation or proper administration of any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of the United States or any case filed under Title 11, or in relation to or contemplation of any such matter or case, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.

And it sure didn't help TRUMP'S case when he went on NBC with Lester Holt and admitted to Obstructiion of Justice.

You can watch the video at this link also.

So this ongoing criminal investigation has added another leg of Obstruction of Justice--(which is an impeachable offense.) Obstruction of Justice is the crime--and only needs to be the crime, and stands alone, regardless of collusion or not with the Russians.

I keep hearing this same narrative from you on the left...that Trump has "admitted" to obstruction because he said that he was thinking of the Russia controversy when he decided to fire Comey. Here's the glaring problem with that...if Trump is thinking about Comey's reluctance to come out and say that Trump wasn't the subject of an FBI investigation in public and THAT was the reason he decided to can him...then this has nothing to do with obstruction of justice and everything to do with a President and an FBI Director not seeing eye to eye on something else! After watching Comey play games with Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton to declare that the investigation into Hillary Clinton was simply an FBI "matter" so that Hillary could claim she wasn't under investigation by the FBI, is it any wonder that Trump would be annoyed that Comey would assure him in private that he wasn't under investigation but not state that in public? I think Comey got fired for THAT...not to obstruct any investigation into Trump and my proof of that is simple...the investigations didn't stop...as proven by testimony of the new acting head of the FBI!

When he fired Comey did any investigation stop?

No.

How is Trump being accused of obstruction when nothing was obstructed, nothing changed as far as the investigation(s)?

He didn't ask Comey to back off. "I hope" does not equal "stop".

I hope the jury sees it way to clearing Bill Cosby. I hope they can let him go.

That statement does not direct anyone, it is a statement expressing what the persons hopes the outcome will be.
