On this 4th of July........Don’t forget to thank a Liberal

Our founding fathers were the most liberal thinkers of their era

Imagine believing that all men were created equal, that royalty were no better than anyone else, that common people should vote

Conservatives supported the King ....that is where the power was

Our liberal founding fathers risked all to create a new nation
As far as I know your founding fathers were very religious people. Liberals now remember about God, Heavens or hell only when it may bring them political points.

Albright: 'special place in hell' for women who don't support Clinton

Founding fathers must be spinning in their graves when compared to today's liberals.

Me, I would disagree with some of the founders. I'm against slavery and not allowing women to vote. Few other items liking having to own property in order to vote. I'm with the founders in not trusting corporations. Speaking of spinning in graves, the founders are probably spinning now after hearing that corporations are now considered citizens with far superior rights than living, breathing citizens.

Of course the FFs gave us a 2d Amendment right, which is not unlimited in scope.

The ability to bear arms gave us

. . . which we love celebrating.

Except Conservatives

We used to tar and feather them
bullshit RW...there were colonial conservatives who wanted those people out just as much as the colonial lib of the day did.....AND there was i am sure, a lot of colonial liberals who were too scared to join the team just like the kiss ass republicans of the day.....
Actually, conservatives of the day supported the monarchy
That is where the money was
RW there was lots of money to be made in the new place too....dam i did not think you were that far compelled.....
The US was a poor country, deep in debt
not much of a business man are you?......

Business with England was much more profitable when we were a colony. Indepen

The liberalism of the Founding Fathers was exactly the opposite of the kind you have been brainwashed with. They believed in freedom. You don't. Notice that freedom was the main goal of the Founding Fathers, and you don't even mention it. They certainly didn't give a fuck about the common people voting. In fact they greatly feared it.
Why do Conservatives continuallly regurgitate nonsense like.......Liberals don’t believe in freedom?

It shows how limited your intelligence is
You demonstrate it every fucking day. Do you believe Obamacare is about freedom? How about Obama's "Clean Power Plan?" How about the tens of thousands of government regulations you support and want to make more of? How about your opposition to the 2nd Amendment?

Can you give a single example where leftwingers have come down on the side of freedom?
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

Our liberal founders were concerned about the life of the common man
Conservatives care only about the wealthy....just like they did in 1776

The same ones that outlawed income tax?

Call 'em whatever the hell you want, can we embrace that liberal idea?
Income tax funds our government

The founders gave Congress that responsibility

You stupid, the founding fathers were wealthy as hell they owned slaves, they gave us the right to bear arms, the right to be free..

That's military spending, moron. Which is opposite of defense spending. Two entirely different budgets, actually. It's government spending. And it's the only reason the GDP looks worth a crap. If the government ever stopped spending, the GDP would tank.

Consider the contracts of DOD with the military. Those are mighty producers. Consider the contracts of the US with not only the military forces but all of the agencies and businesses that supported the effort in WWII.

Nope. I'm a real liberal. You've never met one of those, have you?

Libertarian horsecrap.

Income tax didn't start till 1913..it was all tariffs before that.

Recent examples prove otherwise.

.
Hardly

Violence on college campuses to prevent people from simply speaking, hounding administration officials in public because of differences in policy. I could go on, but that's not promoting freedom, it's quite the opposite.

So?

They still had taxes and ways to raise revenue

It's just not DOD spending. Read the contracts, it is spread throughout the country.

Without US monies, the red South, much of it, would wither away and emigrate to the Upper MW and the far west.

Yes indeed, thank you liberals for opening the door for someone like Trump. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fear and repressed hatred opened the door to Trump

Perhaps....fear and repressed hatred of turning this country into a shithole....like Obama was doing.
I know......ensuring healthcare for all, protecting the environment, protecting the needy makes for a shithole
Healthcare is not a right, and insurance is not healthcare
God Given, Inalienable Rights
Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

Life does not mean healthcare, and certainly doesn't mean insurance....dumbass.

It was tariffs once again income taxes didn't start till 1913

Tariffs built our economy , now your pissed off that Trump is going back in history..

The Founding Fathers made sure that ecclesiastical interference with our statecraft was excluded to the point they wrote a constitutional amendment assuring that would not happen.

Yes.....they all had personal firearms too, established the 2nd Amendment, and had enough morality not to go on shooting sprees killing innocent people just because a woman said no to them or their peers mocked the. That would not happen for another
189 years.

Thank you to a well-armed militia defending states rights, individual rights, and national sovereignty.
Militia did not do well against British regulars
It was the Continental Army supported by the French who won
Who the hell do you think made up the Continental army?
.
In the Continental Army? Primarily the poor and landless, who were fighting for land bounties. The CA was supported by local militias.

Study Orders of Battle for Saratoga, Monmouth, and Guilford Court House as examples. The CA regiments of line were used as the base on which the militia hovered. Sometimes they acted as skirmishers up front, but very rarely were the used in the line: they would run after the second volley.
Once again, who made up the CA? Professional soldiers from other countries or American citizens..
You implied militia made up the CA above. You are dead wrong.

By all understandings of the militia, they are made up of able bodied citizens who are willing to take up arms in the defense of the community/State/country. Tell me who made up the CA if it wasn't citizens willing to take up arms?

Yeah, I bet that's why the founders gave us a "Godless" Constitution.

That's a pure commiecrat invention. The Constitution was dated "Year of our Lord", they weren't referring to the king of England.

.
Year of our Lord was just a common expression
. . . for a legal attestation of a document.

In no way did the attestation make the document religious in nature.

You obviously don't understand the difference between a religious document and a godless one. That one "attestation" as you call it, acknowledged not only God, but the son of God, as does our modern day calendar. You're free to try to spin it any other way, but that's a fact.

.

It was how they expressed dates. Just like TGIF isn't a tribute to god.

Acronym for "Thank God it's Friday". Used to express the joy one feels in knowing that the work week has officially ended and that they have two days off

They were enlisted soldiers in the national army, professional soldiers. They were not militia, temporary soldiers.
