Only one person clapped after Obama speech

Okay, THAT was certainly embarrassing. At the end of a joint news conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands on Tuesday, the applause for Barack Obama came from a grand total of one guy. One.

After thanking the crowd twice (for suffering through his boring, standard worn-out spiel), Obama looked around the room, expecting the usual fanfare and applause he receives from his loyal followers back home. It never came.

Instead, the Leader of the Free World was met with one slow, awkward clap. Question: was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in the house?

Solidarity with the gays and lesbians will make us strong.

Jesus....give him the hook!!!

When do people applaud after a news conference? I don't think that was unusual....if anything, the one guy applauding was unusual.

As for his Brussels speech. As usual, it was well delivered. I was not surprised to hear him say that he was against the Iraq conflict, although I don't think it was appropriate in a speech where he is representing the United States......but I was very surprised how he said "we ended the war and left them a free people" (or something like that).

We may have left them free....but in more danger than when we got there.

Overall, he seems confused by Putin's motivation. Enough with that crap. Putin has a country that is stagnant economically and in no way the "power" it was when it led the Soviet Union and the eastern block of nations.

He wants the power. Nothing confusing about that.

One has to wonder what the rest of the speech was about? Iraq? Iran? Russia? Sanctions?

I know Republicans cheered when they shouted out "let him die" at the GOP convention.

And they cheered Santorum for calling Obama a snob after Obama said he supported education for all Americans.

Just depends on the crowd and the subject matter.

the thrill is gone...:(
