I haven't read the article, but if your representation of it is contextually and factually accurate, Robertson's transcended whatever can be meant by "going against" Jesus' teachings...what you've described is squarely in the blasphemous heresy realm. Almost every one of them told how they needed to send in their "partner pledge" every month to him, or some of the scam artists that appeared on his show.
