Time to end the 'War on Drugs.' People like to get high and drunk. And that in itself, is not a criminal act. I'd rather allow the People to get high and drunk, than allow the Government to continue committing crimes against the People like this. So the People wanna get high. That's the way it is, and always will be. Time to move on.

A new document reveals that the U.S. Department of Justice secretly kept track of Americans’ calls to foreign countries for more than a decade to track drug trafficking and other criminal activities.

The new database of stored calls was described in a filing Thursday in the case of a man accused of conspiring to unlawfully export goods to Iran, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

A Drug Enforcement Administration official said in the filing that the agency, which operates under the Justice Department, has long used administrative subpoenas — not federal court orders — to collect the metadata of U.S. calls to foreign countries “that were determined to have a demonstrated nexus to international drug trafficking and related criminal activities,” the Journal reported.

Although the court document only refers to outgoing calls, sources familiar with the program say it also collected data on incoming calls...

Shocking so few Americans care about this. Oh well, guess most are too busy watching reality tv, sports, porn, and demanding their Government Freebies. Nice priorities, ay??

The PATRIOT Act was the passage of a longstanding law enforcement wish list of police powers, including the DEA's wish list. I said it then, I say it again: The PATRIOT Act is not just for going after terrorists. It will be (or I should now say it has been) used against Americans.

Americans should have been clued in to this fact by the simple observation of how quickly the PATRIOT Act was written. Law enforcement had this shit shrink-wrapped and ready to go, just waiting for the right moment to get it implemented.

I've also often said there is a PATRIOT ACT II: This Time We Mean Business sitting in shrink wrap in the Capitol somewhere, waiting for the next opportunity.

Meter maids will be waterboarding double-parkers. Flag pins won't be good enough for Sean Hannity any more. He will insist on nothing less than armbands.

People dont and wont care about this until it starts to hit people known as "good guys"

The Patriot Act was the shit until people found out that tapping phones meant tapping ALL PHONES. And the silly fuckers out there thought it was just for "bad guys"

But who could think clearly when any opposition was characterized as being "for the terrorist"? Lol...I mean, how could THE SHEEP think clearly..

Yes, the Patriot Act is the most Un-Patriotic act ever committed against the American People.

Good points. It's time to end the 'War on Drugs.' Wanting to get high or drunk is not a criminal act. We should immediately empty our prisons of the millions who've been caged for drug offenses. That time has come.
