Political vitriol contest

Alan Grayson stood up in Congress and announced the GOP plan for health care.

1. "Don't get sick"
2. "If you do get sick, die quickly"

Votto, do you honestly believe that there are more examples of Dems using overblown or inflammatory rhetoric than there are of Republicans?

Really?

I don't care what you or anyone else has to say about it. Get out there and provide links and let the chips fall where they may.

This thread provides a rare glimpse out accountability. I WANT NAMES!

Silly nutter. You won't find many people who want to sit here and post links for you to ignore as you try your dopey game of whackamole.

Nutter? I'm simply giving people the opportunity to provide evidence for the truth so that they can decide themselves instead of simply accepting the notion that one side is worse than the other or that both are equally as bad.

What is nutter about that? Who is a bigger nutter, me providing a thread that shows the nutters or someone like Hillary claiming the GOP is the Taliban?

it's time to hold these fruit cakes accountable.

On the side of the GOP, I see examples of Trump. Anyone else?

Here is Nancy Pelosi talking about the vitriol that Alan Grayson provided on the floor of Congress.

Essentially she is saying, we will not apologize unless the GOP apologizes. Apologize for what Nancy? Also, if the other side is uncivil why lower yourself to them?

Speaking of Nancy Pelosi, here she is laughing as Dims chant, "F Trump"

Who has the most political vitriol that leads to shootings like the one in Virginia in terms of the political leaders in the US? Instead of looking at just a political party, let's look at the individuals who are contributing to it. For at least a brief period on this thread, let's hold politicians accountable and rat them out.

At the end of the thread, we can then tally which end of the political spectrum seems to be the worse end, or if they are the same

California Dem leader leads ‘f**k Trump’ chant at convention while holding up two middle fingers

Democratic leader John Burton hold up both middle fingers while chanting "F" Trump with the crowd at a Democrat convention in California

Still hard to top this...

What's that?
No it's not "going away". Why would it "go away"?

I'm only focusing on politicians on this thread. Perhaps we can start another thread about the media, and yet another about other rich folk who are influential like Ted.

I think it is best to start at the top and work our way down.

Whelp --- your OP said "political vitriol and the individuals who contribute to it". A little late to move the goalposts just because you don't like who scores. Clearly you don't need to be a politician or run for office at all in order to be a "political leader". Equally clearly, the brunt of political vitriol comes from people who are not politicians at all.

Funny you didn't make the same point about post 7.

Hey, can we count all the times that Obama was burned in effigy, hung in effigy, and all the nasty things that were said about him that weren't true (he's not a citizen)?

How about the night Obama was elected when McConnell said that he wanted to make Obama a one term president? How about when the right called Obama a traitor, socialist, nazi, communist, emperor, or dictator?

Fact: Most of the vitriol that is being slung about started when Obama was elected.
Vitriol is one thing.

Slinging mud is another.

Assassinating our Representatives and each other is stepping over the line.

The "your side started it" is no longer a valid excuse.

Should our elected politicians be held to a higher standard than what goes on here on these boards?

Yes or no?

Easiest question I've ever seen.

**EVERYBODY**
should be held to a higher standard than what goes on here. Especially those who perpetuate --- what goes on here.

What leaders do we have to look up to? Who do we seek answers from for such important questions as race relations, health care, and gun violence?

Where are those who don't divide and instigate more violence?

Why does it matter? Once you get to a critical mass of hate on both sides, comparing relative intensity is in my view nonsense. What we should do is commit to see our neighbors as fellow Americans and not lapse into hating them just because they disagree.

"Why does it matter" indeed. That's the question isn't it. The only reason I can think of is yet again trying to "score points" on a message board. As shown above he wants to stack the deck with one hand and remove other people's cards with the other.

Unless he''s got an answer for that it looks like it has to be a completely dishonest thread.

Whatcha got, OP?
