It’s compassionate to ease its suffering and consistent with laws and proper medical practice.

Yes, the VA governor quote was taken out of context(somewhat) and one of the moderators fact-checked him and said “there's no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born.” Trump’s quote was also taken out of context, completely changing the intent of the statement and yet nothing from the moderators.

The VA governor’s full quote:

“[Third trimester abortions are] done in cases where there may be severe deformities. There may be a fetus that’s nonviable. So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen,” Northam, a pediatric neurosurgeon, told Washington radio station WTOP. “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

The point Trump was making is that 3rd trimester abortions are not illegal in some states. No, it is not legal after birth to my knowledge, but if a woman decided to have an abortion the day before going into labor, she could do so. Whether or not women choose to do this is irrelevant. The mere fact that they could and it is legal in some places, all in the name of pro-choice, is disturbing. 7 states have ZERO restrictions on late term abortions so it would absolutely be legal for a woman in Oregon, for example, to walk into an abortion clinic the day before her projected delivery date. Sick, but many Democrats don’t care because “pro-choice” and agenda is all that matters.

All we need to do is look at what Trump said during the debate:

“Under Roe v. Wade, you could do abortions in the seventh month, the eighth month, the ninth month, and probably after birth. … The governor of Virginia said, ‘We put the baby aside, and then we determine what we want to do with the baby. … In other words, we’ll execute the baby.’”

You’re attempting to cover up that Trump was indeed talking about killing babies after birth through “execution”. They did not completely change the meaning of his statement and based on what he said, their fact check was accurate and justified.
