President Trump just filed a lawsuit against Hillary over the "Russian Collusion" allegations

And being a civil lawsuit, the standard of proof is far more relaxed than for criminal cases. A criminal case has to prove "no reasonable doubt" in order to convict. Civil cases go by the preponderance of the evidence in most cases, and by clear and convincing evidence. In other words, it's far easier to win a case in civil court.
True, but like all civil suits Trump has now made himself open to counter-suits. I am not sure Trump or these attorneys thought this through. Many of the defendants in this lawsuits have their own claims against Trump for his slander against them. Maybe you all are right after all. This may be a fun case to watch.

I needed a good laugh this afternoon so thank you very much.

First as to the OP's headline, there is no "President Trump," only former President Trump.

Second, the Complaint is hilarious. Let us look at this line:

"In the run-up to the 2016 Presidential Election, Hillary Clinton and her cohorts
orchestrated an unthinkable plot – one that shocks the conscience and is an affront to this nation’s
democracy. Acting in concert, the Defendants maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative
that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign sovereignty.
The actions taken in furtherance of their scheme—falsifying evidence, deceiving law enforcement,
and exploiting access to highly-sensitive data sources - are so outrageous, subversive and
incendiary that even the events of Watergate pale in comparison."

Wow..LOL...talk about claptrap!

Third, this is apparently Trump's law firm. "legalbrains.com." Wow, Trump only hires the best! Let's hope they got their money up front for this sure loser of a case, unless the law firm was crazy enough to do it on contingency.

This case is pure garbage. Just like all the other Trump law suits.
The FBI is snagged left to right perjuring themselves, falsifying computer data, and manufacturing fake evidence. IN Florida Trump has a chance...I am going to start answering my jury duty summons----

And being a civil case, the defendants can't claim 5th Amendment protection.

Don't you know anything about the law?
Of course in a civil suit you can claim the 5th amendment, if your testimony might lead to criminal prosecution. DUH!

The lawsuit is full of lies, innuendo, hearsay and spurious legal arguments. It will be thrown out of court and then I will have to put up with the usual whining of how unfair the court system is. The case is a loser from start to finish.
Yes, but more money can be gathered from the faithful to be pocketed.

Remember, discovery works BOTH WAYS. Each defendant is entitled to separately depose Donald Trump.

Dream on. Durham is still investigating Hillary. Nobody is investigating Trump for "Russian collusion" because that is over and done with. The Mueller Report ended that.

Even if they don't settle, they'll have to testify under oath. You're going to find out a lot that you didn't know.
That goes both ways.

(C) Previous Statement. Any party or other person may, on request and without the required showing, obtain the person's own previous statement about the action or its subject matter. If the request is refused, the person may move for a court order, and Rule 37(a)(5) applies to the award of expenses. A previous statement is either:

(i) a written statement that the person has signed or otherwise adopted or approved; or

(ii) a contemporaneous stenographic, mechanical, electrical, or other recording—or a transcription of it—that recites substantially verbatim the person's oral statement.

That means each defendant is entitled to get everything Trump said about the Russian hoax. Which pretty much means Trump would have to turn over half the contents of his presidential papers. The same one's Trump tried and failed to prevent the archivist from disclosing.

Again you twist words but he also called him a bad guy. If biden didn't give putin his pipeline, there would be no Ukraine war. So Biden is Putin's bitch.
So an incomplete pipeline into Germany somehow caused Russia to invade Ukraine and made Germany cancel the pipeline and it's cause...

Saul Biden man Saul Biden.........

Trump is not the one on trial here. Or did you miss that?

Oh, and BTW: He filed the lawsuit in Florida. Not New York, and not DC.

It will go to trial, you can count on that. And that $300,000 from Stormy Daniels will help pay for Trump's legal expenses, if she coughs it up.
He's suing someone....you think he won't be asked to testify? :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

Shit's fixin' to get real, yo.

The lawsuit
This must be serious.

The orange blob would never file a frivolous lawsuit.

Of course in a civil suit you can claim the 5th amendment, if your testimony might lead to criminal prosecution. DUH!

You can plead the 5th in a civil trial, but in the process you would be essentially admitting that your behavior was criminal. And a negative inference can be drawn by the jury as to why you plead the 5th. As in the common verbiage, The president refuses to answer on the grounds that the answer may tend to incriminate him.

Dream on. Durham is still investigating Hillary. Nobody is investigating Trump for "Russian collusion" because that is over and done with. The Mueller Report ended that.
Discovery opens all of that back up again. And as I pointed out. It's not they get to depose Trump once, each defendant gets to depose Trump based on their individual exposure.

It's a RICO suit. Half the people in this suit have already been indicted. :laughing0301:

Trump just filed a lawsuit against Hillary over the "Russian Collusion" allegations

There is no such crime as "collusion" despite Trump liking to say it continually.

"COLLUSION!"

Hillary Clinton did once state that she believed that Trump associates had colluded with Russia.

... Susan Page asked Clinton whether she thought Trump associates colluded with Russia.
“There certainly was communication, and there certainly was an understanding of some sort,” Clinton says at first, choosing her words carefully.
Page writes that she pressed further, asking directly about whether Trump associates colluded with Russia. “I'm convinced of it,” Clinton said.
“I happen to believe in the rule of law and believe in evidence, so I'm not going to go off and make all kinds of outrageous claims.”
Trump is obviously mired in grievances and the past, obsessed with his vendettas, but this one dredges up Trump stuff that he might well wish he had left buried.

The documented record:

At least 17 Trump associates had contacts with Russians or Wikileaks, which released hacked documents, during the campaign or transition with at least 100 face-to-face interactions, phone calls or electronic messages with Russians or Kremlin-linked figures and at least 51 individual communications.

Trump aides known to have had contact with Russians include the president's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, his son Donald Trump Jr, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and former personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

More than 30 people, including four members of Mr Trump's campaign team or administration, an adviser and long-time ally, and 26 Russians, as well as three Russian companies were indicted for their complicity.

Trump's Special Prosecutor's report was inconclusive: "Based on the facts and the applicable legal standards, we are unable to reach that judgement. Accordingly, while this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."

Trump's strategist Steve Bannon:

“The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea
to meet with a foreign government
inside Trump Tower
in the conference room on the 25th floor – with no lawyers.
They didn’t have any lawyers!

“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic,
\or bad shit,
and I happen to think it’s all of that,
you should have called the FBI immediately.”

Can you image the chaos in our political system that would ensue if Trump wins this lawsuit. Any politician that loses an election will start suing anyone anywhere if they feel his opponent or someone working for his opponent said something nasty, mean or untrue. Just think of all the lawsuits that Obama and Hillary would have had! Trump is being Trump. Whining and throwing tantrums with no hope of winning other than to try to intimidate his opponents.

The court will throw out Trump's case, but as I said before it may be fun to watch the countersuits. Trump may have his case thrown out, but if he is countersued, that case or cases may live on.

Discovery will go both ways...
The courts in Florida are going to limit what the dem crooks will be allowed in court. If in Miami, Jacksonville maybe---the crooked dems have a chance......If it is in one of Trump many many pro Trump counties--the corrupt dems are fucked. Trump will get far far more than $24 million---and Hilliary is likely to have a bunch of dead bodies pop up around her to insure that they don't testify against her.
