Press Silent On Biggest Story of 2019

Agreed, I wish the press would provide a full and clear picture of the economy at any given time. More Americans need to understand how the economy works, as well as the pros and cons of fiscal strategies.

Right now, the economy is in good shape, with outstanding unemployment figures, lower personal and business income taxes, very nice income growth and a pretty good GDP.

On the other side of the ledger, we have aggressively increased spending, aggressively increased the deficit, and the Fed is back to adding hundreds of billions of dollars into markets to grease the system in a non-recessionary period, something that Keynes himself would have thought was going too far.

It would be good for Americans to see and understand the big picture, so that they can determine for themselves if the benefits of any given fiscal policy outweigh the costs. When it comes to the economy, there will always be conflicting data.

Maybe the press thinks it would be too complicated. Or maybe they don't really understand it themselves.

The economy was in good shape right up until it wasn't in 2008 also.

The media is two faced. On economics the media is no different than Krugman. As long as the (D)'s are doing it, it's good. They have painted themselves in a corner now because Trump is doing very little that differently than Obama and the media sat on their hands when Obama was doing it.

The biggest story not covered by mainstream media was Trump being illegally spied on.

The biggest story was the lies that drove us into the wars. But like with the economy the media has neutered itself there.

I agree that they're biased. The least they could do is be informative.
