Protecting America????

How many terrorist attacks have Christians carried out? They say things the left disagrees with and they protest abortion clinics. That is all child's play compared to the acts committed by Muslims over the years. Muslims have been consistent with killing infidels. The "peaceful" ones remain silent. We keep getting told that only a handful are radical and the others can be trusted. I guess it's a big handful that are radical judging from the pics after 9/11 showing crowds cheering in different countries. I wonder how many of those t-shirts have been sold that celebrate the attack on us.

Until a large group of Muslims comes out and denounces terrorism, I will consider them to be in league with the killers. If they choose not to separate themselves or help us in locating the radicals among them, it is safe to assume they hold the same mindset.

Here ya go, compiled on a single page for easy reading.

And here ya go again -- All Terrorists Are Muslim-- Except for the 94% that Aren't

>> Yet, Americans continue to live in mortal fear of radical Islam, a fear propagated and inflamed by right wing Islamophobes. If one follows the cable news networks, it seems as if all terrorists are Muslims. It has even become axiomatic in some circles to chant: “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but nearly all terrorists are Muslims.” Muslims and their “leftist dhimmi allies” respond feebly, mentioning Waco as the one counter example, unwittingly affirming the belief that “nearly all terrorists are Muslims.”

But perception is not reality. The data simply does not support such a hasty conclusion. On the FBI’s official website, there exists a chronological list of all terrorist attacks committed on U.S. soil from the year 1980 all the way to 2005. That list can be accessed here (scroll down all the way to the bottom).

... According to this data, there were more Jewish acts of terrorism within the United States than Islamic (7% vs 6%). These radical Jews committed acts of terrorism in the name of their religion. These were not terrorists who happened to be Jews; rather, they were extremist Jews who committed acts of terrorism based on their religious passions, just like Al-Qaeda and company.

Yet notice the disparity in media coverage between the two. It would indeed be very interesting to construct a corresponding pie chart that depicted the level of media coverage of each group. The reason that Muslim apologists and their “leftist dhimmi allies” cannot recall another non-Islamic act of terrorism other than Waco is due to the fact that the media gives menial (if any) coverage to such events. If a terrorist attack does not fit the “Islam is the perennial and existential threat of our times” narrative, it is simply not paid much attention to, which in a circuitous manner reinforces and “proves” the preconceived narrative. It is to such an extent that the average American cannot remember any Jewish or Latino terrorist; why should he when he has never even heard of the Jewish Defense League or the Ejercito Popular Boricua Macheteros? Surely what he does not know does not exist!

Never ceases to amaze me when the same voices that (correctly) rail at the biases of mainstream media.... then turn around and follow it like a puppy when it suits a preconceived agenda.

Believe it or not, military members have access to things called the "Internet" and "television". And they know just as much about radical Islam as you and me.

It is less a question of military members knowing the facts than of them being sotto voce instructed on what path to take....or not to take.

1.5. But...the Bush administration then disallowed even the mention of "jihad," or "Islam," in connection with the war on terror:

lol, then I guess you'll deny that President Obama said this last month:

"Deranged or alienated individuals – often U.S. citizens or legal residents – can do enormous damage, particularly when inspired by larger notions of violent jihad. That pull towards extremism appears to have led to the shooting at Fort Hood, and the bombing of the Boston Marathon."

This misleading post of yours forces me to provide information that I would rather have left for some other thread.

This thread is meant to question the basis for American policy....

1. But when you imply that a tiny portion of Muslims....6%?....may prove to be a problem for the West....well,...

....now I have to instruct you as a teacher to a student who has no depth in understanding.

Here: do you believe that only 6% of Muslims are devout?

2. Let's say, arguendo, that the percentage is far higher.
The devout follow the instructions of the Koran.....in which there are many....124...verses of tolerance.

3. But those are rendered meaningless by the rule of "abrogation. This rule is the hermeneutic key that Islamic scholars use to resolve contradictions found in the Koran.

Koranic passages are abrogated, cancelled, by any subsequently revealed passages that convey a different meaning. In other words, when there is a contradiction, e.g., 'don't kill infidels', vs. 'kill infidels,' whichever was 'revealed' to the prophet Mohammed more recently is the one that takes priority.

4. This comes directly from Mohammad himself, in sura 2:106 " Whatever a Verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allâh is able to do all things?" Surah Al-Baqarah: Translation and Commentary on The Holy Qur-an: by Dr. Zohurul Hoque

5. In "What the Koran Really Says," Ibn Warraq explains concisely that the passages preaching tolerance are found in Meccan (early) suras, and the passages recommending killing, maiming, decapitating, the so-called Sword Verses, are Medinan (later). Thus, 'Tolerance' has been abrogated by intolerance.

Do you understand? The terrorists are the devout.

Can we go back to the OP? The question at the core is why our administrations belie the above facts.

And....is this the way to protect America and Americans?

Hope this helps.

It probably won't. :(

It doesn't. The following will indicate that it is you who have your head in the sand.

In other words, when their is a contradiction, e.g., 'don't kill infidels', vs.

Wow.
Do you not know how to read this board yet? That was in answer to Clementine's post. That's why it says "Clementine" in the box. That's why it directly addresses it.
Where do you get the idea it's all about numero uno?

"Devout"?? Who the fuck brought up "devout"? How would you even measure that?

Weird post. Maybe you want to delete and start over.

You.

Now you have been instructed, and corrected.

What you do with that knowledge is up to you.

I see I have assumed too much -- you really don't know how this board works.

See your name in the box above? That means I'm responding to your post -- this time
See Clementine's name in the previous one? That means it was addressing hers. Not yours- hers.
See where it says "Here ya go, compiled on a single page for easy reading"? That's directly answering her "Until a large group of Muslims comes out and denounces terrorism".

Get it yet? :banghead:

No, it's not all about "You".

I've been known not to aim high but this is too low-hanging fruit even for me.
