Questions for the ‘Majority of Scientists Agree’ Climate Changers

They have control over what they decide to include and exclude in their reports. Don't act like this doesn't matter.
Their reports that come out every 5-6 years? As that data show, their reports strongly reflect what has appeared in the literature during the intervening period. It is not as if the literature is filled with studies supporting your viewpoint that they are ignoring. Your problem is that your viewpoint is not just unsupported, it is refuted by study after study after study after study.

It is not as if the literature is filled with studies supporting your viewpoint that they are ignoring. Your problem is that your viewpoint is not just unsupported, it is refuted by study after study after study after study.
Their reports reflect their agenda which is why it's been reported that they intentionally and systematically neglect to include dissenting opinions.

Dissenting scientific opinions in the literature are not reflected in the various IPCC statements. The drive to present a single “scientific consensus” on issues has given the IPCC epistemic authority in matters of climate policy” (Beck et al. 2014). Many researchers have noted that this has been achieved by suppressing dissenting views on any issues where there is still scientific disagreement (Beck et al. 2014; Hoppe & Rodder 2019 ¨ ; van der Sluijs et al. 2010; Curry & Webster 2011; Sarewitz 2011; Hulme 2013). As a result, an accurate knowledge of those issues where there is ongoing scientific dissensus (and why) is often missing from the IPCC reports.

They are reflected precisely as much as their proportion of the published literature would demand. How about identifying, as I asked you several posts back, to identify these issues wherein an ongoing scientific dissensus exists?

And, since I suspect you use these terms without understanding them:

epistemic:
adjective
PHILOSOPHY

1. relating to knowledge or to the degree of its validation.

dissensus:
noun

  1. widespread dissent.

“The very idea that science best expresses its authority through consensus statements is at odds with a vibrant scientific enterprise. Consensus is for textbooks; real science depends for its progress on continual challenges to the current state of always-imperfect knowledge. Science would provide better value to politics if it articulated the broadest set of plausible interpretations, options and perspectives, imagined by the best experts, rather than forcing convergence to an allegedly unified voice” (Sarewitz 2011).

Given the many valid dissenting scientific opinions that remain on these issues, recent attempts to force an apparent scientific consensus by the IPCC on these scientific debates are premature and ultimately unhelpful for scientific progress.

Are you unable to identify the issues where you claim these authors contend there is a scientific dissensus?

At the very least, you could provide actual links to your references.

Ha ha ha ha!!!

He posted many sources right there in front of you.

You are so freaking lazy!

Tell you what. I'll post the entire source list for AR6. You'll be ahead of me as you will know where they came from. Have you read his reference material? Can you answer the question?

The AR6 is as usual more of the same meta-analysis crap which is why many scientists have abandoned the IPPC reports these days it is no longer even embraced by many warmists/alarmists either since the gaping holes in the reports always comes back to haunt them which is why they rarely quote from it anymore.

CLINTEL to IPCC/COP26: AR6 Summary for Policymakers Flawed

Reposted from MasterResource

By Robert Bradley Jr. — November 4, 2021

Excerpt:

IPCC Complaint Letter

Recently, CLINTEL and the Irish Climate Science Forum wrote a complaint to the chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Dr Hoesung Lee, regarding the scientific mischaracterizations of the Policymakers Summary to the 6th Scientific Assessment.

That letter and full criticism of October 26, 2021 (here) is reprinted below:

  1. It is not “unequivocal” that human influence alone has warmed the planet; the observed modest warming of ~1°C since 1850-1900 has occurred through some as yet unresolved combination of anthropogenic and natural influences.
  2. The new “hockey-stick” graph (Fig SPM.1), when analysed in detail, is a concoction of disparate indicators from various time periods over the last 2,000 years, which together fail to recognise the intervening well-established temperature variability, for example of the Roman and Medieval Warming periods and of the Little Ice Age.
  3. The incidence of so-called “extreme weather” events is erroneously misrepresented in the SPM compared to the more accurate depictions in the draft main report, which latter identify no statistically-significant trends in many categories over time.
  4. Developments in the cryosphere are also misrepresented in the SPM, particularly noting that there is virtually no trend in Arctic sea ice in the last 15 years.
  5. Likewise, developments in the ocean are erroneously misrepresented in the SPM; in particular, the likely modest GMSL rise to 2100 does not point to any “climate crisis”.
  6. The CMIP6 climate models are even more sensitive than the already overly-sensitive CMIP5 models of AR5, and ignore peer-reviewed scientific evidence of low climate sensitivity. The models lead to invalid conclusions on ECS and “carbon budgets”; the likely global temperature increase to 2100 does not indicate a “climate crisis”.

There is no Climate Emergency !

and,

Where Is The “Climate Emergency”?

Here is the actual Abstract to Hoppe and Rodder 2019

Abstract:

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) proceeds on the assumption that scientific consensus is a tool for successful climate communication. While ‘speaking with one voice’ has contributed to the Panel's success in putting climate change on the public and political agenda, the consensus policy is also contested, as our literature analysis (n=106) demonstrates. The arguments identified thereby inform a survey of climate scientists (n=138), who are the ones responsible for realising the policy. The data indicate moderate support for the consensus policy but significantly more in traditional climate sciences than in social sciences, life- and geosciences.

This study is, in essence, a survey of the opinions of 138 scientists regarding the IPCC and its assessment reports. All 138 scientists are from a research consortium in Northern Germany. A number of them are not climate scientists; some are social, life and geoscientists. The analysis repeatedly brings up a significant point: the purpose of the IPCC analysis and assessment reports is not to expand human knowledge, it is to guide public policy. The IPCC has never conducted or even funded original research. It's purpose has been to assess the published literature. Throughout their reports the IPCC consistently evaluates and identifies the reliability, the certitude, of the conclusions they report.

And, again, though this study suggests that consensus-seeking will suppress dissenting or extremist conclusions, it fails to identify any issues on which wide disagreement exists.

You might try refining your search.

Since you're familiar with all these studies and you brought them up as showing evidence that there are dissenting opinions present among climate scientists that the IPCC's strategy has suppressed, YOU need to tell us what are the issues of this dissensus. It is not my responsibility to search through a half dozen studies YOU have brought out searching for evidence supporting YOUR argument. It is yours. Or yours to admit you have no idea because none of your sources ever identify such issues.

The IPPC states from their own website:

“The role of the IPCC is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of human-induced climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation.”—source: https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/09/ipcc-principles.pd

=====

The IPCC has had an agenda to look for humans to be the factor responsible for climate change . . . anything arising outside of human origin (i.e., occurring naturally) that could be responsible for climate changing was not to be examined because it was “out of scope”.

From the beginning the IPCC has stayed true to its charter . . . much to the detriment of science.

You keep getting smashed over and over you enjoy it?

Your English skills could use a little brush up. Their charter statement says that they are to "assess"... "information relevant to understanding"... "the basis of risk of human-induced climate change". That is not an agenda that presupposes AGW. However, since the overwhelming evidence uncovered by thousands of studies all point to AGW as the dominant mechanism driving global warming , the IPCC's assessment have concluded that is the case.

If any of you fools actually had a better case, the IPCC's conclusion would differ. But you don't, so they don't. The IPCC has gone where the evidence led.

It is tragic to see how low and stupid a warmist/alarmists stoops to deflect from what the IPCC states openly,

“The role of the IPCC is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of human-induced climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation.”

It is clearly all about HUMAN-INDUCED Climate Change by their own words.

Your brain could use some more oil to run better.

:muahaha: :hello77:

Did you think the IPCC had originated the idea of human-induced climate change?

It was their task to examine the idea and see if it had merit. That is what they have done and, since better than 99% of the evidence supports the conjecture, they have concluded that it is almost certain to be the case.

Did you think the IPCC had originated the idea of human-induced climate change?

Ha ha, I can see your quick surrender with your naked deflection away from your cherished IPCC bullshit statement is out in the open.

Well done child, well done.

:21:

I haven't surrendered to anything.. Being tasked to investigate a topic is not evidence that the investigator holds a preexisting bias. The IPCC was created specifically to assess whether or not human action was causing climate change. That is what they have done. Denier objections to the methodology of the science being conducted and assessed has been an absolute paragon of desperation that your utter lack of supporting evidence has created.
