Radioactive Plume Approaching

:lmao:

Where do these people come from and get this nonsense?

besides, if it was deadly, it would be stopped by the Rockies, thus doubling the affect on millions of liberals.

wait, I'm having an idea....

Radiation takes on some mystical properties with some people. Back in the day when people were worried Cassini was going to enter the Earth's Atmosphere during a flyby there was harping that it contained enough plutonium to kill everyone on Earth, the caveat being is that the only way that would happen is if the plutonium was divided into 6 billion individual doses, and each dose implanted into every person on Earth's brain.

How will it impact human health?

The levels of expected radiation are likely to be so small that it won’t negatively impact human health, according to the California Department of Public Health.

Small is not nothing and if the government says small expect much more. I suggest that you go and lay on the beaches after it hits.

Harmless by the time it reaches our shores.

It was relatively harmless a year after it was dumped. That's the way radiation works. Ionizing radiation is deadly and fortunately the isotopes that give off the ionizing radiation have short half lives....that's where that energy comes from after all.

The daughter elements left over are dangerous if ingested but that's it....don't swallow them and you have nothing to worry about. And, after this period of time even the daughter elements have been so diffused within the water column that they too are rendered safe save in very special circumstances.

Are you saying, that CA, a state completely dominated by nuclear hating leftist would lie and say it's safe?

There "radioactive plume" is insignificant. Many people are measuring such things. Most of them are not from the government, hence that conspiracy can't be invoked.

Here's one such report on the sampling.

http://www.nature.com/srep/2014/140304/srep04276/pdf/srep04276.pdf

The summary of it is that the contamination is moving more towards the south than predicted, and it's moving deeper, settling to the bottom. The natural radioactively of seawater is around 14,000 Bq/m^3. The original predictions were for the "plume" to add 2-30 Bq/m^3 to that number when it reached the West Coast. Now it appears it will be at the low end of that prediction. That is, adding 2 to 14,000. Not significant. Everyone, try not to die.

Ever go to the dentist? Ever travel by airplane? Have granite counter tops in your kitchen? Ever go outside on a sunny day for cryin' out loud? Relax, Chicken Little.

And the impact is now starting to show, with children experiencing falling strength, lack of coordination, some can not even ride a bicycle, and emotional issues like shorter tempers, officials and educators say.

No, that's not because of radiation. It's because irrational parents in Japan won't allow their children to leave the house. All over, the fear of radiation causes much more harm than the actual radiation.

IMO we need to be more worried about the leaking Hanford site than this. This is called the most contaminated place in the world.

Yet, for some reason cleanup dollars were cut by hundreds of millions 2 weeks ago. :(
