Try to understand how others perceive you, and maybe in the process understand the concept of compassion and empathy - two characteristics of normal human beings, and sadly, missing in callous conservatives.

Liberals, on the other hand, don't believe in a fixed, conclusive set of parameters for Real America. Contra-Hitler, Liberals believe that there is a plurality of Americas determined by individual freedom and choice. Liberals believe that some Americans can love America for the New Deal, whereas others can love it for free market capitalism. Conservatives don't allow this kind of freedom. They have one America and one religion and one set of traditional values ... all of which must be imposed on the rest of us.
