Remember when liberals said?

That Republicans were just using or duping the Religious Right, because they never did much about Abortion or could never do much about Abortion?

Has any of those liberals admitting to being wrong? Or been called on it?

This gets to a larger point too, ie the complete lack of any LEARNING, in our public discourse. Because when people or policies are proven wrong, there is never any follow up.

Any examples of liberals admitting it? Any other discussion about this point? Any other examples of liberals not being called on being wrong?

Any of republicans being wrong and not called on it?
Abortions will continue in back allies and that will result in deaths of mothers too.
This is the choice that America is now making.

Aw, you thought they would just allow you to hold the court hostage to YOUR political view?

What a shame.

Do you have any counter examples, where REPUBLICANS said shit about the LIBERALS and then were proven wrong but never called on it?
Who would have thought that our Justices would lie to get on the court?

What happened is that the Democrat party abandoned liberal principles and embraced identity politics, instead. They don't have an actual platform these days, only a strategy for getting elected, and all the illegal aliens they are bringing in represent part of that strategy.

Once again a right winger tells us where Democrats "went wrong". Democrats didn't embrace "identity politics", Republicans started actively working to strip minorities of simple civic liberties.

There is a streak of Puritanism a mile wide in US politics. You keep trying to legislate a narrow and twisted version of "morality" that dubs anything you believe is "bad for people", but in reality imposes a Puritanical value on a certain way of life.

Prohibition was one such law. Pushed by the Women's Christian Temperance Union as a solution to poverty and abuse among the poor. It fueled lawlessness, bribery, smuggling, and mob violence. The unintended consequences of right wing puritanism run amok.

Now the right has gone crazy over the idea of "open borders, drugs and sex fueling the decline of "American Values". Republicans have intensified their attacks on public education, blaming them for various lies and bullshit from CRT and "grooming" their children for sexual abuse, and immorality.

Republicans can see no connection between closing the border for 2 years, and the rising price of food in the grocery stores. Without illegal immigrant labour, or even visa based immigrant labour, to plant the crops, harvest the crops, or process the crops, prices are rising. Instead of making the correlation between the lack of cheap illegal labour and the price of food, the billionaire owned right wing media is blaming Joe Biden for the rising prices.

And while Republicans play stupid politics, with non-issues like gay marriage, trans rights, and gun violence, the real issues of lack of access to medical care among the poor, income and wealth inequity, school shootings, the economic effects of unchecked climate change, and a whole range of other REAL issues, while they pursue their made up "American values", which never were.

Republicans have no solutions to any of these problems, other than keeping leadership in American white, living the life of evangelical Christian morals.

So, you can't think of a time when republicans made a mistake and were not called on it?

Sure we can. The failure of Republican economic policies for the past 40 years, which have completely destroyed working Americans leaving them poor, unemployed, and with no marketable skills, while technology replaces their low wage work.

In a less "dog eat dog" economy, the government made retraining programs and grants available to anyone who was unemployed for 6 months, including income support while they re-trained for jobs in the 21st century economy.

In the USA, the government relaxed oversight on opioid manufacture and sales, and the diseases of hopelessly thrived - drug addiction, alcoholism, and gun violence.

These aren't moral failings of "identity politics", this is the economic failure of supply side economics. An economy thrives on "supply and demand". Republican policies strangled demand, and supplanted wages with government programs like "earned income credits".

I am not a right winger. I am simply magnitudes more intelligent than you and minored in political science while at school so I know what I am talking about.

Mmm, the Free Trade Policy did NOT deliver what it promised.

But the free traders were called out on it, by Trump and there was consequences.

If you had posted that, pre-Trump, you would have had a point.

It is worth noting that the dems have embraced the idea, and now fight against any challenge to that status quo.

Who would have thought that our Justices would lie to get on the court?

You have to swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth to testify in court

You don’t have to do it to be appointed to the court

That broke down when you liberals started using the courts to implement social change. Your desire to not play by the rules while having us play by them is a. denied and b. off topic.
