In a Republic, actually
‘Republican leaders are warning party members against using overtly racist and sexist attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris, as they and former President Donald Trump ‘s campaign scramble to adjust to the reality of a new Democratic rival less than four months before Election Day.

At a closed-door meeting of House Republicans on Tuesday, National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Richard Hudson, R-N.C., urged lawmakers to stick to criticizing Harris for her role in Biden-Harris administration policies.

The warnings point to the new risks for Republicans in running against a Democrat who would become the first woman, first Black woman and first person of South Asian decent to win the White House. Trump, in particular, has a history of racist and misogynistic attacks that could turn off key groups of swing voters, including suburban women, as well as voters of color and younger people Trump’s campaign has been courting.

The admonitions came after some members and Trump allies began to cast Harris, a former district attorney, attorney general and senator, as a “DEI” hire — a reference to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.’

But racist and sexist attacks on Harris are all Republicans have.

Yeah..they really can't help themselves, now can they?

Except that is a complete lie. AP lies often. Here is what he actually said...

“This election will be about policies and not personalities,” House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters (not conservatives) after the meeting.

“This is not personal with regard to Kamala Harris,” he added, “and her ethnicity or her gender have nothing to do with this whatsoever.”

Where is the "warning"? Im not seeing any warning to conservatives at all. I see a guy saying to race baiting liberals that he doesnt care about race or gender. :dunno:

I hear the Trump eats the heads off baby girls behind closed doors.

Of course, once CNN sees this post they will post this tonight on the news.

Johnson and Republicans want this election to be about policies but that's not going to happen. The MSM will do everything they can to make it about racism and orange man bad. If any Republican calls Kamala stupid, unqualified, a failure or a DEI hire, they will be labeled as racists. The media will do its best to assure that gullible, low intelligence-low information Democrats are properly riled up against what they will paint as mean, racist Republicans. Again, Democrats have no answers. That's why they will play the race card. MAGA

I agree they should avoid those arguments. There are more than enough other things to bash the career public sector employee with no notable successes on her resume about.

It's the nature of politics. I do find it funny suddenly the left thinks things should tone down after 8 plus years of attacks.

The trouble with charges of racism and sexism is that THERE IS NO DEFENSE to them. Nothing you can say can rebut a baseless charge. Nobody can find anything in Trump's long and well-documented career that is either racist or sexist. The best they can come up with is that he mocked that O'Donnell woman for being ugly. But they still constantly call him racist, sexist, homophobic, et cetera.

There is no defense. That's why the Democrats love it.

More importantly, there is no need for it. The Republicans, if they are astute, will saturate the media with videos of Harris saying and doing all of the extreme Leftist things that she does. She supports free healthcare for illegals. She thinks that the solution to the border crisis is "a path to citizenship." She voted for the Green New Deal, and to Defund Police. This list goes on and on. There is no Leftist trope that she has not supported, openly, for the public record.

Not to mention her scores of ridiculous statements as VP, followed by that insane cackling of hers.

Kill her with her own words.

You watch.......if Trump wins there will be some sort of discussion around a "path to citizenship".

Good luck with that one!

When challenged, Republicans fall back on their basic instincts

Bias, prejudice and hate

What do you mean, we like Jamaicans Mrs. Jones.
Take off that facediaper and breathe in the reality of what is happening.

He called minorities SOB's for peacefully protesting an unfair justice system and then whined and whined and whined about what he then saw as an unjust justice system towards himself.
/---/ Too many pronouns. Who is "he?"

The Repubs should not tone it down, they should make every attack be about race or sexual hisotry....it is a winning tactic...trust me.
