Republicans Are Not Celebrating the Texas Abortion Law. Here's Why

The Supreme Court ruled that the federal government cannot define marriage. That leaves the states as the only other entity able to define marriage.

Why Democrats banned interracial marriage isn't a mystery, Democrats are just racist evil people.
So...you want each state to have its own definition and people moving from state to state are either married or not married.....might even get arrested like the Lovings did?

Why not? States rights don't end because of some people might be inconvenienced. Lawyers have to pass the bar on a state by state basis to get a license to practice, this wouldn't be any more discriminatory than that.

You did not address the fact that if the federal government cannot define marriage, who can?

Why not? :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: Won't that be fun.....move from one state to another....have to get another marriage license (if you're allowed to marry there at all) This is what you are advocating.

I'm advocating state's rights to coincide with what the Court has already ruled. Not seeing a problem.

Well, I'm not sure it's a bad thing, politically. When I was a young man in college in Colo I met people from Ala and Miss, and they left there because of the opposition to civil rights. Because of Roe, we haven't seen that same thing play out with the issue of reproductive freedom. Miss is losing population because people don't want to live here. Texas is gaining population, but not amongst those who support this law.

It's certainly a bad thing for a poor woman who can't access abortion drugs. Texas has closed its clinics anyway. A woman who is more affluent can find a doctor or get telemedicine or even go to Mexico.

The measure of fascism from the leftist Democrats is the only measure that counts.....since it's the Democrats that have the majority and the power... and consequently, it's the Democrats coming up with most of the "mandates". Sure, there's a few RINOs in there doing the same thing... but they will be dealt with, hopefully sooner vs. later.
Such projection from the Right...... :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg: :auiqs.jpg:

it's what I have said since the Supreme Court didn't put a stay on the law until the case was heard and decided.

People are now motivated to get out to vote against republicans. Primarily women and women are the majority in our nation.

The republicans shot themselves in the foot with this and most of them know it. Which is why most of them have remained silent on this.

The issue is pretty much a dead issue and a stay is in place until this law moves up through the Supreme Court.

This will easily be shot down, it is not a real issue anymore and we need to educate people to what abortion really is and let the women decide but education about abortion is severely lacking and those that provide abortion need to be open and honest with their clients and potential clients. Provide honest and correct information and let people make educated choices.

During the decades since the USSC's decision permitting abortion, the GOP has been dangling-the-carrot of overturning Roe v Wade in front of their anti-choice base, always promising, "This will be the year."

It has been the issue Republican candidates promised to "fix" that put (and kept) most of them in office election after election.

The Texas law will screw countless GOP politicians in the 2022 Mid-terms. Without the abortion issue, and with the trump influence polluting right-wing politics, the measure of fascism is all that remains to separate one Republican politician from another.

.
BOTH parties use this issue as a political issue every election, this not unique to one party.

Why can't lefties accept the rule of law? Are they so freaking bloodthirsty that they can't tolerate a single state preserving the lives of humans with a heartbeat? The ironic thing is that they would be horrified if technicians went around aborting dogs or elephants.
The unborn is a con-venient group for you to advocate for, isn't it?

What stay?
