Resurfaced video shows FEMA exec talking about prioritizing LGBTQ hurricane victims as Milton barrels towards Florida

7 Oct 2024 ~~ By Will Potter
A FEMA disaster preparedness meeting about 'focusing efforts on LGBTQIA+' victims has resurfaced following the agency's response to Hurricane Helene.
In a virtual meeting from March 2023, FEMA Emergency Management Specialist Tyler Atkins alarmingly said the agency was prioritizing LGBTQ people because they are 'already disadvantaged.'
'They already have their own things to deal with. So you add a disaster on top of that, it’s just compounding on itself,' Atkins, who uses he/they pronouns, told the panel.
t comes as FEMA has faced mounting backlash in the weeks since Hurricane Helene tore through the southeast and killed at least 227 people, amid allegations the agency 'ran out of money' after spending billions on illegal immigrants.

In the clip, which has racked up over 15 million views since it was shared on X on Sunday, Atkins argued that LGBTQ victims should receive more support because they would have been 'already struggling' before a natural disaster

The shift that we're seeing right now is a shift in emergency management from utilitarian principles — where everything is designed for the greatest good, for the greatest amount of people — to disaster equity.'
A similar line can be found on FEMA's own website, where it lists its 'Goal 1' as: 'Instill Equity as a Foundation of Emergency Management.'

Commentary:
That would be consistent with their previous behavior under Obama..
Blacks were top priority after Katrina, not New Orleanians.
The stories of FEMA incompetence and callous nature in the aftermath of Helene ring true. All you have to do is review the responses and actions from Katrina, Sandy, to the most recent hurricane "Helene"'.

^ voted entire life to destroy FEMA, then gets mad at consequences of his own actions :itsok:

“Guys” have a hard time running away from rising flood waters in high heels . Thus their prioritization

Maybe the federal government can donate the thousand barrels of Lube that they seized from Puff Daddy and distribute it to the homo hurricane victims?

Well FEMA said it's relief efforts will be prioritized by equity.

The part of Florida in the path is some of the most hardened targets in Florida. See how it does.

If I learned one thing from Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the President of the US is the first responder, and if anyone gets killed, its his responsibility.

Biden Harris are supposed to be in charge of the weather

That would be consistent with Kamala's initial statement that FEMA resources would be based on demographic groups instead of impartially based on immediate emergency. Of course there was so much backlash on that she has since backpedaled somewhat but it does seem obvious there is a lack of immediate emergency concern for many in desperate need.

It is certainly consistent with the Biden Harris regime's quick response to the bridge collapse in black majority Baltimore as opposed to this more current event.

Apply DEI to a disaster situation is one of the more obvious attributes of a clueless, incompetent, politically motivated Administration.

You can be sure that whites will come last with a Harris Administration, regardless of need.

Biggest bunch of racists you’d never want to meet.
