"You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future; not a future that will be, but one that might be. This is not a new world: It is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: Logic is an enemy, and truth is a menace." Rod Sterling, The Obsolete Man.

Man, this is too freaky!

Despite his obvious talent and success Rod was a man riddled with self doubt.

He was convinced that one day the world would realize he was a talentless hack.

Smoked himself into a very early grave

Burgess Meredith was one of the greats...

The future seen by Rod Serling was seen by many writers. Kurt Vonnegut saw one much the same in Harrison Bergernon.

And just how many successful TV series have YOU written?

Oh, I see.

If you cant do it, don't fucking critique it like a jealous loser, lol.

If the pen is mightier than the sword, and a picture is worth a thousand words, then movie pictures must be the fucking nuclear WMDs of conveying thought and ideas, and Serling excelled at that..
