It's part of the act which creates non-profits and people know that when they apply for a tax-free corporation, but you cannot strip a for-profit company of its right to political speech.

Such a thing would abruptly end the government lobbying business in Washington, since every company which ever received a tax break would be barred from lobbying the government. And we all know that's not going to happen.

Democrats have never been at war with gigantic corporations. Democrats have been critical of corporations who have a monopoly on goods and services, and use that monopoly to force up prices or force down wages.

They have also been critical of corporations who don’t act in the public good such as tobacco companies, Big Pharma, oil and gas industries along with other big polluters.

Democrats want corporation to pay their workers fairly, and to pay their fair share of taxes.

Asking corporations to behave in a fiscally and socially responsible manner is not “declaring war” on them.
