Mexican drug Cartels are not something to play around with.

#El Chapo coming for you twitter

The fool has pissed off the wrong minority. Should have stuck to denouncing blacks. Blacks expect it now.

Try to refrain from cheering.

He must have had a hard time digging through that sandy floor.

They should take everyone at the prison out back and shoot em in the head. Look.....they even provided him with a ladder.

Time to send the troops south....
Though well intended, this might not be well received by Mexicans.
Last time US troops were sent there Mexico lost half of its teritory.
Some things have changed: We have the UN and we are now trading partners, but erasing from collective memory the loss of half of a country is not a minor diplomatic task.

Even worse, some Mexicans might be aware of the disquieting role that US troops have played in the drug production chain, elsewhere... and might argue US troops will only make the problem worse.

Just in time to start funneling some money into the Democrat elections.
I don't believe he is particularly fond of drug legalization.
Pot is the cash of drug lords.
So no legal goods come across the border from Mexico. Jesus Christ you folks are dense.
They do, but the profits are ten times higher with illegal stuff.

American weapon dealers benefit from the fact that high caliber weapons are illegal in Mexico.
Not much fuzz is made about it, but the fact is that many of the deaths occuring south of the border are done using weapons which have been illegaly exported to Mexico.

Courtesy of the obama administration. However, legalizing anything makes it more available. Profit per weight may be less but selling a lot more can make a big difference.

That seems to be a policy pointing in the right direction ( Mexico should probably do the same regarding weapons and soft drugs) .
The prohibition led to an increase in organized crime which made huge proffits by having an oligopolic market.
When it became legal the market grew, but the profits for the organized crime vanished.

There's no bigger criminal element that the state. Voters elected to get the state out of the liquor business here in Washington so the state said OK, but you have to pay us the profits anyway. So the state takes the same cut as if they were selling the booze in the state liquor stores. Sorry, but I don't see the big difference there with organized criminals. Still, it's much easier to grow weed that produce booze so the black market will always be there.

No , no big difference.

Strong images. Viewer discretion is adviced.

As gory as the images are, they are nothing compared to stark reallity of the war on drugs.
Over 100,000 persons have died or disapeared as a result of the war on drugs in Mexico during the last 10 years.
Colombia is another country where war on drugs has been a terrible burden for the population.
Admitedly, it is not just the drugs, but the social discomposition ( poverty + corruption) which runs rampant on those countries.
