Salon.com: "America is Ready for Socialism!" (Didn't we fight against Socialism in WW II?)

We fought socialism in world war 2? Really? We fought with the USSR against the fascist pigs. In the words of a fascist: "Fascism is a mix of corporate and state power"

We fought against collectivism, yes. Socialism is a form of collectivism. The National Socialist German Workers Party was most certainly an extreme form of socialism.

LOL. Socialism is democratic control of the means of production, as put forth by all socialist groups, this doesn't necessarily mean they would live up to that promise, in fact, many groups labeled themselves socialist to get the support of the lower classes. Don't try to tell me fascism is socialism, you're going down a really hilarious road if you do, the nazi's labeled themselves "socialist" to garner support, in fact, Mussolini, a proud fascist, even claimed fascism is a mix of corporate and state power. The nazi's did nothing to even remotely attempt ownership of production by the people, the USSR made modest attempts, although they simply followed state capitalism.
"You should also know about fascism, which espouses veneration of authority, ultranationalism, and the use of military force to achieve national prosperity. It was a reactionary response to the rise of socialism in the early Twentieth century." Try again buddy.

"Socialism is democratic control over the means of production". The ultimate means of production is the human mind.

Mussolini was a corporatist. Corporatism isn't "a mix or corporate and state power". It's far more subtle, and insidious, than that.

Most Americans support Medicare, Social Security, the VA, Medicaid, the public education system.

All are socialist. They are not 'liberal' programs; they are mainstream American programs.

You are such a fucking genius, why are you here?

Socialists caused World War II. History refresher ...

Socialists caused World War II. ... During World War II, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics formed an alliance with the ... in the United States, ...
Ah, such factual dishonesty and stupidity is astounding. The nazi's only took the word "socialism" to appeal to the lower classes, they did nothing even remotely close to trying to achieve socialism. Then again, your posts are a journey in stupidity.

Of course SOCIALISM, the TAKING AWAY OF ONES WEALTH TO GIVE IT TO THOSE THAT DON'T DO SHIT, AND THUS BUY THEIR VOTE IS UP FOR GRABS! Your subversiveness is following you like a trail of diarrhea!
Not at all, socialism is democratic ownership of the means of production. You're an idiot.

The USSR....China.....The Soviet Bloc were Democratic? You're a fucking idiot.
Oh lord, they all followed state capitalism, no one is claiming they were socialist, they had some socialist layers that occasionally blossomed.

They claimed they were Socialist you idiot. And the state took over the means of production which is the definition of Socialism which you stated.

Lord...are all leftards complete morons?

"Democratic"? How do you figure? Socialism is an oligarchy at best. Autocratic rule at worst. After all, it is assumed the people are too stupid to think for themselves so the government controls all aspects of life. Hardly democratic.

All done by progressives who believe in collectivism not individualism and all of those programs are going to bankrupt us unless they are reformed.
Collectivism is part of the ideology of socialism or communism - aka Government control over the masses because they are incapable of knowing what is best for themselves.

How many laws can you name that never get broken?

Mussolini was a corporatist. Corporatism isn't "a mix or corporate and state power". It's far more subtle, and insidious, than that.

Mussolini was a hyper-educated intellectual with an obsession with the glory days of Rome. Fascism is largely based on the system put in place by Augustus Caesar, who used the syndicates to effect his economic policies. We have roughly equated the syndicates to corporations, but they were really quite different - similar to Mafia families. Far from a limit of liability, the syndicate boss, or captain, was liable with his life for the performance of his Latifundia, his enterprise. These were more than just industries, they were clans. Under Il Duce these syndicates ran not single operations, but industries. One of the markers of Capitalism is competition. This was forbidden under Mussolini. If the Latifundia in charge of glass making was challenged by a competitor, Il Duce would dispatch men to kill those competitors. Captains operated under the direct authority of the state. That they were allowed a profit changed nothing about the fact that Fascism was and is a command economy ruled from the top.

Public education is socailist - NONE of the others mentioned are.

We have more law abiding citizens than law breakers.
If you believe that everyone breaks the law then you belong with the collectivist ideology, rather than freedom from government and individualism.
What a very sad thing to do wanting government control over you.

Didn't we fight against Socialism in WW II?

Uh, no. And your gross lack of education is deplorable. Were you not aware that communist China and the USSR were allied powers? What we fought against in WWII was an empire who attacked us. In fact, the cause for Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor was directly related to our support and aid to communist China through the course of Chinese/Japanese hostilities.

Communist China, huh?

So Mao sent his troops back in time to help the GLORIOUS struggle?

So, Pearl Harbor was after 1949 then?

I did not know this.....

No, it's TAKING AWAY what one has worked for to BUY VOTES from stupid workers that believe in your fraudulent ideas!
You're the reason the right wing looks like an embarrassment.
Let me google that for you

Gee, guess you can have anyone say anything as long as they are Socialists and agree with you!
You're literally wrong, the only ones who claim "socialism" is what you say are tea party loons, talk to some actual socialists, I'm one of them.

WE shot Socialists until you people all went into hiding in the education depts. of what is laughingly called higher education!
Is that around the time we got a McCarthy era phrase in our pledge?

Ironic that someone uses a poster of a Great Depression bread-line to combat socialism. If only they had Social Security during that Republican fiasco would that bread line even have existed? In any case thanks to that poster for the reminder.

Exactly; It was FDR brand of Socialism that turned the US from a relative third world economy into our first world economy.
