Well, the reason we're pretty much stuck with the Donald is that the gop has given the conservatives - who are not willing to poke a stick in their own eye just to avoid any compromise - absolutely jack shite for 7 years. And before that the establishment subjected the WORLD to W.

So, assuming the Donald goes down in flames (literally) in Nov, I think the party has to seriously ask itself if it has any future. If it merely prevents any balanced budget deal just to avoid raising taxes on the 1%, what's the point? We're not going back on free trade, but the gop does have some ideas on taxes that could leave a bit more in the pockets of the middle class.
