Personal experience, that's all. They also don't realize Mexicans love family and most are against abortion. They might vote democrat once, but when the are legal here, they won't vote democrat again. You progs think you know something about Latinos? They are MACHO Christians who despise the type of cowards you are. Sure, they'll use your puny asses to gain political power. Then they'll turn on you like pissed off javelinas....this dance is very temporary...established Latinos vote GOP to keep some of what they earn and not be told how to live by some nutless bureaucrats.
Based on what? Surely not data:

Hispanics believe abortion should be legal at the same rate as the General Public. Republicans, obviously, have a smaller representation in the group who believe it should be legal.
Hispanics in no way help Republicans on the abortion issue. If 75% of Republicans believe abortion laws need to be strengthened and you add to the Republican coalition Hispanics, other than first generation, who as a group have only, say 55% support, then the blending of Hispanics into the Republican coalition will result in a dilution of the 75% to a level much lower.
OK. The problem is that personal experience doesn't capture the attitude of the majority of Hispanics. Look at the Republican coalition now. ON the issue of abortion, the social conservatives are pretty close to 100%, right? Then there are the Defense-Hawks. Who knows where they are. Then there are the TEA Party folks who are primarily concerned with finances, not social issues. Then there are the Libertarians who are more concerned with gutting liberal totalitarianism and not so much with social conservative issues. When you combine all of these groups you still find Republicans supporting restrictions on abortion but it's way, way down from the 100% seen in the social conservative circles. Now look at hHspanics, they're tracking at near the level of the general population, not the Republican population nor the social conservative population, which means that if they join the Republicans, they dilute your abortion position even more.
On other family-centric issues, like unwed motherhood, they're not in line with social conservative values. Check the data on the rate of Hispanic single motherhood. Don't be confused by the heavy Catholic presence in Latin America. The doctrine being pushed in a lot of place was radical liberation theology, very pro-communist stuff.
