That's funny because we just lost power and I don't know how long my laptop battery will last. I'd rather do it with my lap top.

But, please do say how its done on an iPad.

You simply push the home (on) button at the same time you press the button to take a picture

The picture you take will be the screen shot.

I completely forget how to do it on a lap top....I'll refresh my memory brb

On a windows OS you can hit print screen, open MS paint, and paste the picture and save it. As someone else pointed out yesterday (which I did not know) , if you go to programs>accessories there is something called a snipping tool which is faster and allows you to crop when you take the shot instead of having to edit in paint.
