Threatens Johns Hopkins Hospital With A Strike

Baltimore-night.jpg

Apparently, the Service Employees International Union does not realize that the “Affordable Care Act” (aka ObamaCare) is putting the squeeze on hospitals–the very employers the SEIU is trying to put the squeeze on.

Or, if the purple behemoth does realize it, the purple behemoth certainly isn’t managing its members’ expectations too well.

When will unions, especially ones like this, realize moves like this can only result in staff reductions and the loss of jobs by their members? Has greed overcome reason? Read more @ SEIU, Demanding Up To 40% In Wage Hikes, Threatens Johns Hopkins Hospital With A Strike

The last thing we need in this country is workers making a decent buck.

$15 a hour is "greed"?

Johns Hopkins just spent more than a billion dollars on new facilities in 2012. They're not being "squeezed".

1) What's that got to do with anything?

2) Any idea where they got the money? The Billion Dollars?

They borrowed it.

NOBODY borrows money to pay employees. Well, nobody with any sense. It's the last sign a Company is going buh-bye.

Borrowing money to improve your business? Standard Operating Procedure.

It's called 'Investing'

A union representing the hospital’s service and maintenance workers, including housekeepers and those who deliver food to patients, requested the increase because it said many of the workers rely on government assistance programs such as food stamps and Medicaid to support their families.

Great. John Hopkins has been too cheap to pay their employees and relying on the tax payers.

Next time you go to the Hospital..... Actually, don't go.

They're such thieves, I mean.... :dunno:

Eleven to Twelve years of schooling and residency if you get your 'fellow' in an advanced field. Hundreds of thousands in School loans. Living like a fucking rat the whole time you're in school and doing your fellowship work.

Never dealing with happy people, everybody you see is either sick or injured. Having to listen to pissed off relatives who think you're God and ought to be able to cure anything, any time.

Yup, real assholes, those medical types.

Next time you start bleeding out of your ass, don't go to the Hospital.

Got a pain in your gut, that's bending you over? Stay at home.

How about a mole that's changing color? Stay home. Those guys are such thieves anyway.

Get run over by a bus? No problem, just have one of your idiot relatives call a Witch Doctor and eat some peyote. You'll be fine.

dimocraps are just some one-way scumbags. All they ever think about is themselves because they're too stupid and too selfish to think about HOW people became Doctors and the work it takes to be one.

Not to mention the brains.

Most liberal scum with the brains for an advanced degree usually become scum-sucking, bottom-feeding, worse than child-molesters, scum of the earth lawyers.

And all lawyers do is steal.

Conservatives with brains become Doctors. Or Engineers. Or Architects. Or something else that actually improves our lives.

dimocraps? scumbags, one and all

Capitalism is about this very type of struggle. For all those who have forgotten, it is a workers duty to work hard and constantly seek out more. It is the employers duty to constantly try to keep labor costs low. This is the conflict on which capitalism is founded. If you want to pay less then fill all those positions with less qualified, less skilled people. If you want good service, then you should pay for it. Does anyone think these people should report to work and give top notch care for lower wages? I surely don't. Again, you want good service? Then don't complain. Pay rm. Only a fool doesn't always seek more.

Typical unions: "We want more". They sound just like minority groups.

It sounds like workers who want a wage that can provide for their family without living off the government. Instead of being screwed by their employers and pay less for being more productive. Productivity is an all-time high while wages have been stagnant for over 30 years. That's a big problem in this country.
