You know little about modern day Jet fighters i see. The fifth gen fighters of the Russians can’t fly much over Urkraine for fear of being shot down by the air defenses we sent. What makes you think a fourth gen fighter woukd fare any better. Not only that, but the cost is astronomical and woukd take away from everything else. It needs to be a NATO supported effort.During the Korean War, both China and Russia sent fighter jets to North Korea. During the Vietnamese War, both China and Russia sent fighter jets to North Vietnam. And at least in North Korea, it was Russian pilots who were flying them! Just imagine how the Russians would howl if we not only sent fighter jets to the Ukraine, but had them piloted by American fighter pilots. All we would have to do is drop leaflets on Moscow telling them that in the Korean and Vietnamese wars, they did it to us. So now we are doing it to defacto General Secretary Putin.

Hilarious. A 4 th gen fighter jet needs more support, cost as much as 20 plus howitzers and can be shot with a shoulder fired missile. You’re just complaining cause it’s a dem president. Exactly…Ukraine doesn't need jet fighters or bombers....
The skies above Ukraine are so watched and monitored that the second one took off from a runway it becomes an instant target.
As it is now, the artillery rounds are "shoot and scoot" before they become destroyed by incoming rounds. They can source where artillery rounds are shot from. Ukraine gets off two or possibly 3 rounds before they have to pack up the Himars or howitzers and move.
Mortars are easier to shoot and scoot and hide before they can be found.
Jets require a year of training to be even marginally competent and are hugely expensive. Even Russia isn't sending in jets anymore and helicopters are used sparingly because they have lost too many of them to Ukranians shooting them down.
Drones are much cheaper and nobody loses a skilled pilot. Same damages can be done with these as with a jet. And some drones (reconnaissance) are the same size as your hand.
Jets are a waste of money and time. Keep sending the drones. Russia can't stand them now...and they have been highly effective on the battlefield.
Let’s look at it….The US was treaty bound to protect So Korea and and So Vietnam. Guess what, the idea was not to overrun No Korea and No Vietnam. The south of each are both functioning democracies NOW. What ever we did, workedHow did Korea and Vietnam work out?
I'm coming to the conclusion that too many Americans have been "distanced" from the horrors of war. We used to see combat photojournalism every night on the news during the 1970's. Not much of that these days.. Remember the iconic images of an officer shooting a guy in the head, or the naked child running through the street as her fleshed burned? Hell, those were done with film cameras! It seems now the focus is on the "hero" Zelenski in his stupid costume.

It would have ended weeks into it had we sent nothing...I don’t know about that. I do know a lot more Ukrainians would be alive today if we were not piece mealing them with arms and ammunition. This war would have ended months ago.
