In normal times, I'd write him off as an insane murderer, regardless of political ideology. But in today's political climate, the far-right's use of violent language and actions has to be considered a factor in regards to pushing some of these marginally stable people, over the edge.

Advocates for more gun laws and regulations need to end their advocacy for at least the next 40 years.

Indeed, the advocacy for more firearm regulatory measures has been rendered moot the consequence of the current Supreme Court majority.

Moreover, even if advocacy for more firearm regulatory measures is the correct course of action, such measures would never survive a court challenge; that advocates for more gun laws, for making guns less available, and for prohibiting the possession of particular firearms might be correct on the issue is legally irrelevant.

Those who support more gun laws, making guns more difficult to acquire, and approve of assault weapon bans need to accept the fact that they have lost and need to pursue other solutions to the problem of gun crime and violence that don’t include the regulation and restriction of firearms.

<snip/unsnip>Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public UnawareCompared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Gun Deaths Increased in 2017, Gun Violence Archive Data Show

You made the anti gunner mistake of using the Gun Violence Archives....they lie.....

What you need to do is use the FBI homicide data table.......and your brain...

In 2015, President obama and his allies in the black lives matter movement began a systematic attack on the police...this led to the Ferguson Effect, where the police across the country stopped pro-active policing and only responded to 911 emergency calls, and they also stopped clearing street corners of thugs, and making stops, which allowed actual thugs to carry guns without fear of being caught...this led to a 2 year increase in gun murder in democrat party controlled cities.....and now that surge is going back down as Trump has allowed the Federal Government and the police to go after gun criminals on the federal level....

This is how the Gun Violence Archive lied to you....

Expanded Homicide Data Table 8

The gun murder rate for 2016.....11,138 Previously reported 11,004

For 2017.....with now more than 17.25 million Americans carrying guns for self defense....10,982

gun murder by year...

2013..... 8,454
2014..... 8,312
2015..... 9,778
2016..... 11,138

2017.... 10,982

And the Ferguson Effect.....

Hard Data, Hollow Protests

The reason for the current increase is what I have called the Ferguson Effect.

Cops are backing off of proactive policing in high-crime minority neighborhoods, and criminals are becoming emboldened.

Having been told incessantly by politicians, the media, and Black Lives Matter activists that they are bigoted for getting out of their cars and questioning someone loitering on a known drug corner at 2 AM, many officers are instead just driving by. Such stops are discretionary; cops don’t have to make them. And when political elites demonize the police for just such proactive policing, we shouldn’t be surprised when cops get the message and do less of it.

Seventy-two percent of the nation’s officers say that they and their colleagues are now less willing to stop and question suspicious persons, according to a Pew Research poll released in January. The reason is the persistent anti-cop climate.

Four studies came out in 2016 alone rebutting the charge that police shootings are racially biased. If there is a bias in police shootings, it works in favor of blacks and against whites. That truth has not stopped the ongoing demonization of the police—including, now, by many of the country’s ignorant professional athletes. The toll will be felt, as always, in the inner city, by the thousands of law-abiding people there who desperately want more police protection.

Homicide Rate Is Rising? Do Tell!

While not trying to ascribe a cause, CNN does acknowledge that the uptick beginning in 2015 has been concentrated in a handful of cities.

Steve Sailer draws the obvious conclusion:

Hmmhmmmh … Chicago, Baltimore, and St. Louis … Weren’t those in the news? Something to do with Black Lives Matter?

The obvious cause for the increase in murders during the last years of the Obama administration was the Black Lives Matter movement, which was enthusiastically endorsed by the White House. It led to numerous unfair attacks on law enforcement, which in turn caused officers to police less aggressively. When police officers are afraid to do their jobs for fear of career-ending charges of racism, criminals prosper. Baltimore is the most notorious example, but the same phenomenon has happened in other cities where law enforcement has been besieged by the Left.

-----

Does that have anything to do with the recent spike in homicides? Were carry laws loosened in Chicago, Baltimore, Kansas City or St. Louis prior to the increase? Are the states where murders spiked after 2014 the ones where the law permitted residents to “carry a loaded concealed gun with you…with no license”?

No. What did change in the last years of the Obama administration? The obvious answer is, the Black Lives Matter movement and the associated attacks on law enforcement.

So gun deaths up by around 30% in 5 years ?
Or have I missed something ?

1. None of Trump's policies or agenda is reasonable called that. If the "Far right" wants that, they don't support him.2. Thanks for not tying the 11 million illegal lie on me. 2b. 20 million illegals says we do have an effectively open border and we need to take major steps to reverse this. YOu libs paint every single attempt to do anything about this as "racist and xenophobic". Thus you do support open borders and do NOT believe this nation has a right to limit who we let in.
`
I already said I do not support open borders. I gave you my honest appraisal of what I consider the "far right" to be. Now trust me, I have no love for the far left either but that's not the topic here. As a sovereign nation, we have a right to control the ingress and egress of people to this country. However, over the last 60 years, our southern borders used to be so porous, millions more than the census department wants to admit, entered and stayed. They've been quoting that phony 12 million number for the last 8 years.

Finally Reagan saw it as a major problem but didn't want to make it public. He signed a law which in part, required employers to attest to their employees' immigration status and made it illegal to hire or recruit illegal immigrants knowingly. He also was responsible for the Reagan Amnesty but that was too much, too little, too late. George H. W. Bush really didn't push the issue and both Reagan and HW, argued against a wall (Source)

Bill Clinton made the illegal Mexican immigration worse by making it personal....Bill Clinton's record on immigration policies (Source). Bush Jr had a mixed record on immigration from Mexico. (Source) This is anecdotal but I was a part-time journalism student. Sometimes, we'd go to the student union where they served beer, and watch Fox news, which we all hated but liked to rip apart. This goes back about ten years, but there was a newscaster there, Lou Dobbs I think, that kept bring up the Mexican immigration problem. I laughed but more because everything he was saying, I already knew. It just never occurred to me that this was turning into a major issue.

I believe in justice, treating people with respect, and like it or not, the law is the law. I'm very pragmatic that way. trump, to his credit, tapped into a groundswell a supporters who want to control the borders of this country. I have no problem with that. However, when I see gross disrespect, enmity or especially hatred, I draw the line.

Trump trash talks some group or sub group that is disrespecting our borders and our right to national sovereignty, and the media is going to tell you he did it because he is racist.

If they don't out right lie.

Remember when he called Illegals "animals"? Hint This is a trick question.

I do not like or support trump. He appeals to the lowest common denominator in people...fear is one of them. I think he's a Machiavellian racist, because he considers himself superior to all races. He's a megalomaniac. We can never agree about trump and anything he says or does. Even now, North Korea has warned it could revive a state policy aimed at strengthening its nuclear arsenal if the United States does not lift economic sanctions against the country. Some negotiator.

Children resort to name calling. Eventually trumps smoke and mirrors will clear up and we're going to be in some deep shit.

Fear is the rational response to a threat.

OUr nations past Trade and Immigration policy has caused real harm to a lot of people in this country.

Trump didn't have to tell them to be afraid. THey already were.

Trump spoke for them and offered a platform that would address these very real and legit fears.

"A gunman opened fire inside a yoga studio in Tallahassee, Florida, on Friday, killing two women and wounding five other people before killing himself, authorities said. Tallahassee police identified the shooter as Scott Paul Beierle, 40.

A total of seven victims were taken to a local hospital, police said. Six suffered from gunshot wounds and one had been pistol-whipped. Two of the victims died, while another two are in stable condition. Three have been released from the hospital.

Tallahassee police identified the victims as Maura Binkley, 21, and Nancy Van Vessem, 61. Florida State University's president issued a statement early Saturday saying Binkley was a student and Vessem a faculty member.

Police believe the gunman acted alone, and Police Chief Michael DeLeo said there is no threat to the community. "There is no immediate threat outside what has already occurred this evening," DeLeo said. The motive is still unknown, police said"

It isn't republicans you have to worry about....

Analysis | The surprising way gun violence is dividing America

In the most Democratic regions, gun violence is more often committed against another, crimes that probably generate more news coverage and fear. In the most Republican areas, it is more often committed against oneself, suicides that may not attract as much attention.

------

As the below charts show, Democratic areas (measured by the party that controls the congressional district) are far more likely to experience almost all forms of malicious gun violence than Republican areas.

The actual murder of the democrats is more of a problem....the baseball shooter was a bernie bro......the riots that have engulfed our cities came from antifa and black lives matter, the para military wings of the democrat party....at least 9 police officers murdered by black lives matter supporters..... attacks on Trump supporters and republicans, actual physical attacks...

even the guy who murdered 11 Jewish people at the Synagogue has more in common with democrats than Republicans...he hated Trump...as democrats do....he hated Israel, just like the democrats do....

What do you have.....fake bombs sent to democrat haters.....

You guys actually hurt other humans......you need help....

What far right? THe people that don't want to let millions of people waltz across the border willy nilly? That's not radical. If you think it is, you might be the radical one.
`
a) The far right that supports trump, violence, racism and xenophobia.

b) There are already 20 million illegals here that just waltzed in. I don't believe in open borders and do believe this country has the right to limit whom they let in. So far, much to the far rights chagrin, they haven't been shot nilly willy and are offered the same due process that all immigrants have.

The political party made up of racist groups is the democrat party, their core groups are racist...la raza, antifa, black lives matter, the black panthers, nation of islam....their leaders are both racist and anti semitic....as their association and affection for louis farrakhan, linda sarsour, and al sharpton show.......

The racism, hate and violence is coming from the democrat party...that you don't see it means you really need help.

We have pissed off people over here in the UK. But because we dont have guns we dont have daily tragedies like this. When will you learn ?
This fails as a false comparison fallacy.

American culture is far more violent than that of the UK, where in the US violence is encouraged, celebrated, and condoned as a legitimate means of conflict resolution – America’s glorification of war and militarism being one of many examples.

Wrong, the U.K. is 2X as violent as the U.S..... their rate of violent crime keeps going up, while ours goes down....

Violent crime on the rise in every corner of the country, figures suggest

But analysis of the figures force by force, showed the full extent of the problem, with only one constabulary, Nottinghamshire, recording a reduction in violent offences.

The vast majority of police forces actually witnessed double digit rises in violent crime, with Northumbria posting a 95 per cent increase year on year.

Of the other forces, Durham Police recorded a 73 per cent rise; West Yorkshire was up 48 per cent; Avon and Somerset 45 per cent; Dorset 39 per cent and Warwickshire 37 per cent.

Elsewhere Humberside, South Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Wiltshire and Dyfed Powys all saw violence rise by more than a quarter year on year.

Gun crime in London increases by 42% - BBC News

Gun crime offences in London surged by 42% in the last year, according to official statistics.

========

London murder rates surged by 44 per cent last year and knife crime soared in capital, new figures show

There were sharp increases in the number of homicides, up 44 per cent,

While gun crime was down 4.6 per cent, shootings rose by 23.3 per cent — up 313 to 386 offences.

Also...

There were 30,609 violent muggings in the last 12 months, a rise of 36 per cent and the equivalent of 83 a day.

Yorkshire sees highest number of crimes for any county in Britain according to figures

“In particular we’re shocked to see an increase of nearly 30 per cent in weapon possession offences between 2016 and 2017.”

Crimes covered violent and sexual offences, vehicle theft, public order offences, possession of weapons, shoplifting, personal theft, drug crimes, robbery, criminal damage, bicycle thefts and anti-social behaviour.

That's not radical. If you think it is, you might be the radical one.
The far right – most everyone on the right, for that matter – who have an unwarranted fear of change, diversity, and inclusion; who have an unwarranted fear of immigrants; rightists the consequence of their fear and ignorance exhibit nothing but hate, nativism, and bigotry toward immigrants.

An as already correctly noted: no one advocated for ‘open borders’; indeed, there is no such thing.

The only thing being advocated is that immigration law be followed, and the rulings of the Supreme Court concerning immigration, where immigration law has provisions for refugees seeking asylum, that refugees seeking asylum may enter the country absent prior authorization to pursue their refugee claim, and where those who seek asylum in bad faith are deported once their appeal for asylum is denied.

Immigration law isn’t difficult to understand, it’s been in force for decades – it only became an ‘issue’ when Trump and most on the rights started to use immigration as a political weapon of fear and demagoguery.

We have pissed off people over here in the UK. But because we dont have guns we dont have daily tragedies like this. When will you learn ?

Well we're trying to learn from your mass immigration debacle. But rather than learn from your own debacle, you just project onto us, come onto our forums like US MESSAGE BOARD and chide us for our shortcomings rather look into your own.

I read there's a mass of knife crimes in the UK now. Imagine that.

Gun crime in London, is up 42%, gun crime across England and Wales is up 23%......

Gun crime in the U.S. over the last 25 years as more Americans own and carry guns? Down 75%....gun murder down 49%.
At least you’re consistent at being wrong:

“Supporters insist that allowing people to legally carry concealed handguns reduces crime, but that has not been the result in at least four states that have tried it, including Texas, according to a newly published academic study led by a Texas A&M researcher.”

Study: Concealed Handgun Permits Don't Affect Crime Rate

Errr, do we republicans need to start posting each and every time a murderer is a democrat?

This site is going to get pretty boring, real fast. And a lot of work for us republicans.

Based on my experience here Democrats are already on that list which also includes Muslims and illegal aliens. And yes, it has gotten boring.
Your ‘experience’ is subjective, anecdotal, and wrong.

"Illegal immigrants are 44 percent less likely to be incarcerated than natives. Legal immigrants are 69 percent less likely to be incarcerated than natives. Legal and illegal immigrants are underrepresented in the incarcerated population while natives are overrepresented."

Are undocumented immigrants less likely to commit crime?
