Shootings At Walmart Stores Are On The Rise For The Third Year In A Row

But I've noticed something alarming: the rate of shootings is steadily increasing. It's so frequent, now, that I hardly have time to chronicle all of them, and fell behind for a while. Sometimes there are as many as two or three incidents per day. What does the data say? The graph below sums it up pretty well.

In all of 2012, I found 53 shooting incidents on Walmart properties. In 2013, there were that many incidents by the beginning of October. This year, they have already matched that number by July. If a linear regression is predictive, they are set to beat last year's high of 83 by a comfortable margin, perhaps around 100 incidents.

From the article:
Don't you think that selling guns and ammo, and having a permissive policy about conceal carry, might have something to do with these alarming numbers?
No mention of how many shooters were on SSRI Prescription Drugs.

I don't recall ONE shooter who bought his gun then IMMEDIATELY went on a rampage. WalMart or anywhere elese.

Concealed Carriers are usually the ones who stop these shootings.

WalMart should just put more effort into cleaning up their filthy stores.

Well, thank your Dear leader

people are frikken struggling under him...anyone been grocery shopping lately?
gas headed to $4 a gallon, more people have into slid into poverty level under him...instead of bitching about the citizens and walmart, call your dear leader up and dial him in will ya?

To bad those on the left don't give a damn about their constituents in Chicago. It's only because Walmart is considered a right wing company does this get any play.

Chicago has how many shootings a weekend and hypocrites like hazynut, turn a blind eye.

no kidding...they don't care about any of them. Only ones they can use for their agenda

it's a sick tactic they use and also tacky as hell

The more stores one has, the more people come to them. It stands to reason, there would be more shootings at Walmart, as in theory, the Law of Large Numbers is at work.

Do we need more guns in Chicago? That's the gun rights extremists' solution.

problem is, chicago has restrictive gun laws. honest citizens can't get them. only criminals who don't give a flying fuck what worthless law you pass have them.

According to Walmart's investor FAQs:

Walmart serves more than 245 million customers and members weekly worldwide.

So about 2 shootings per week out of 245 million customers...

Your odds of winning the Powerball lottery grand prize are better than your being shot at Walmart.

Being the biggest retailer will mean the largest numbers of crimes, yes.

More guns in the right hands? Absolutely. You're tactic of disarming everyone doesn't seem to work too well. And you know what they say about somebody trying the same thing over and over expecting a different result don't you:eusa_whistle:

Not more guns - there are already enough out there.

There's a new Walmart on the other side of my town.

Parking lot was virtually empty.
