Authorities: Lawrence woman killed dog to fake miscarriage
" I just couldn’t believe what I was hearing,” Mitchell said, referring to a case involving a Moulton woman who is accused of killing her dog and using the blood to fake a miscarriage.
“All I could think about was it had to take some kind of cold-blooded person to do something like that. You just don’t kill the family pet,” the sheriff said.
Mitchell said investigators have arrested Anita Dale Parker, 43, 11684 Lawrence 236, on the charge of first-degree cruelty to a dog/cat, which is a felony.
Authorities said Parker is accused of killing her Chihuahua, then using the blood and other parts of the animal to stage a miscarriage so her boyfriend would not discover she had been faking a pregnancy.
