Since when does the Catholic Church have the right to force their religious values...

...on their non Catholic employees?

Churches are exempt from the ruling.

What gives the Catholic church (or any church, for that matter) the right to force their religious convictions on employees who aren't even catholic?

Better question...

What gives an employee the right to force their lack of belief in the convictions of the Catholic Church on the Catholic Church?

This is a free country. If you dont agree with your empoloyer, you have the right to quit your job. It happens everyday.

We are a secular nation, where the secular laws of the nation are supreme, including in the regulation of business.

A church running a business has no right to substitute Church Law for US Law. Even you should be able to understand that.

no.....we are a mostly Christian nation......with a secular government.....

secular law cannot cross religious law...... unless religious law crosses the Constitution....

^^^ This. While I would not suggest we are 'mostly Christian'.... we are have a secular government and the constitution gives us the right to practice our faith. That is the key. Our church is committed - by its Christian duty - to help our fellow man. The left may hate that, but that is un-fucking-lucky for them.

That's just made-up nonsense.

If churches want to become arms of the government then they can check their churchie beliefs at the door and comply with the secular laws.

then tax money from religious people should not go to secular government......:iagree:

Are you being an idiot on purpose?

don't bite the hand that feeds you.....

don't you realize that most of the government's tax money comes from RELIGIOUS people.....?

....maybe Catholics should start their own health care system....:eusa_whistle:

Again

Notice how the left wants to equate real law with
fiat regulation by some gov't agency

Most of this is caused by the open ended bill of Papa Obama Care

Indeed, why not have congress make it a law or the people vote on this

Oh that is because the Left can not get their most radical ideas passed that way

We already have a lot of the infrastructure to do that. But we do not discriminate. And we never will. We will help anyone who comes through those doors, no matter who they are.

So unless this healthcare law is ruled unconstitutional, religious law can't violate it.

That's been my point all along. Thanks for reinforcing it, in your own odd way.

yeah.....just because they slap some government sign over their door they think they have the right to legislate all kinds of rules and regulations.......:eusa_whistle:

Your President, when he needed the support of the Church to get his clusterfuck passed, promised us that we would never be asked to violate our doctrine. We intend, and we will, hold him to that promise. And we are not alone.

Just like all the unions that got waivers

Regulation is not law

Gov't by dictate- is so progressive

Actually, Catholics are only the example, it is religion in general

this not as an issue about birth control or even abortion
but as an issue of religious liberty and the nature of our nation.

Gov't by dictate
makes the US look more and more like a "banana republic"

nope......only if the religious law is ruled unconstitutional.....read your First Amendment....

Wait!

What?

The Church is forcing people to work for it?

Heaven forefend!

Apparently, the Catholic church thinks it can deny their non Catholic employees THEIR religious values.

What's next? Lie detector tests to see if their employees are using birth control?

Unions can force people to join in order to get a job but all the dimwitcraps seem to think that's OK.

Most tax money comes from working people, and what the Catholics want to do here is discriminate against working people over birth control,

some comically odd piece of Church dogma that even most Catholics don't give a shit about.

Jeezus christ on a bicycle...

discriminate - please

using your low level of definitions ...
Waivers granted to unions "discriminate" against all of us

Your church already complies with this law, or forms of it, in 20 states.

This is the ultimate exercise in faux outrage by the Church.

lol...we could never do this!!! even though we already do this!!!!!!!!!

your Church is a farce.

KNow the facts...then debate.

Obama asked for suppoort from the Catholic Church as he marketed his health care plan.
The Catholic Church offered to give suppoort for it as long as the plan did not force them to compromise their convictions.
Obama agreed and the Church, in return, supported his plan.

So what does the Church want?

For the President of the United States to be true to his word.

We can debate all the other stuff all we want...but it is irrelevant.
