So the left's platform going into the mid terms is all negative....

Like it or not, a great deal of research goes into framing the issues in an election campaign. If they choose to "go negative," it is because they firmly believe that doing so will maximize their chances of winning.

Does anyone consider that it is immoral and unethical to misrepresent an opponent's positions and past actions, in order to paint them with a negative light in campaign advertising? When we hear at the end of these ads, that "...I approve of this message," the candidate is affirming that they AGREE WITH the message stated in the ad. If it is grossly misrepresentative of reality then the character of the advertising candidate can rightly be questioned.

OTOH, to state TRUTHFUL things that place the other candidate in a bad light is perfectly acceptable. To say things like, "My opponent voted to reduce Social Security" (which no candidate in the history of Social Security has ever done) is evil.

The truth may not set you free.
