So Why Can’t I Find Simple Data About This Pandemic?

A severe case of Covid-19 takes 3-6 weeks to play out one way or another. Of the US's current 51,766 active cases, more than 50,000 were confirmed in the past 10 days. If you want a semi-accurate mortality rate, it's going to take a while longer. Before the past 10 days, the sample size was too small.
So America shutdown and crushed our economy over something you admit we know nothing about.
Because of the uncertainty, because we were not massively testing to know more, to be able to isolate the infected, is why the stock market dropped 10,000 points on the DOW in just about a week.... And why businesses were forced to shut down and shelter in place...

---------------------

Commenting on the country’s good results, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha told the BBC, “Testing is central because that leads to early detection, it minimises further spread and it quickly treats those found with the virus. That is the key behind our very low fatality rate as well.”

It has been said many times: Test, test, test.

Unfortunately, the United States has been of the worst — if not the worst — for testing for COVID-19.

We are naughty behind other nations....
No, the market is crashing because the economy has been shutdown and hundreds of millions forced out of work.

I’m asking for why. And I’m being proven right, no one can say why.
It is being based on other countries ahead of us, what they did to mitigate with testing, isolating, and quarantining, and their supply of protective gear, and quick, extensive testing compared to our readiness and quick response....

We've been woefully unprepared and late with testing, and medical readiness.

So, they are preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best....

It's all they and we, can do.
oh bullshit. shut up and stop acting condescending, prick.

They included Chinese rice farmers in the data for a reason.

They can tell me how many Americans have died, so they can tell me age groups and health conditions easily. But they won’t.

Ignoring what I did or didn't admit, we know it's highly contagious and has a relatively-high mortality rate. Professionals - which excludes me and Orange Judas - think it's a pandemic that won't peak for a small number of months. Epidemiologists predict an ultimate infection rate of 30-70% - a number that may be strongly influenced by social distancing.

If it works, and saves lives, then you can say we did it for nothing.
I’m not seeing any data supporting a high mortality rate. You’re parroting what the Talking Heads say. That’s what the OP is about. Shouldn’t we have this knowledge?

The world is being pushed into a Great Depression and no one can provide the data why.

Using this data, if we make the completely illogical assumption that none of the remaining active cases will end in death, then the mortality rate would 11 times higher than the seasonal flu. That's relatively high, as I said. Yes, a number of persons who may have recovered, untested, could lower that number. Every one of those 52,208 active cases who dies will add to it.

I don't expect evidence to be accepted. These numbers are from Bing's tracker, linked earlier, and you can dispute it to your heart's content.

Those are cases. Like a cold or flu. Meaningless data.

Knowing the mortality rates of age and health groups vs previous flu seasons tells you how bad this is or is not.

Yet the powers to be will not tell us this data.

Ok Einstein. Tell us what knowing how many cases there are is important. What if it turns out to be 100% of America in a month?

Meaningless unless you know the mortality rate.

Completely correct and totally withheld

When MLB resumes they will discontinue stats.
A battering average is a players own Private business
Also most are too dumb to understand especially liberals who feel hits and not runs actually determine the winner (Hillary really won)

Please keep in mind that some of what you ask is calculated after-the-fact ... "we won't know until after the autopsy" ... ha ha ha ...

Who is "they"? The Trump administration? The CDC who gathers world wide statistics on pandemics? The WHO? The Doctors too busy trying to save lives, including their own?

I'd like to know more information on who died as well... is it killing the young that do not have a pre existing condition? What pre existing conditions do all those that died have, if any? Can you catch it twice, is second time worse or milder, how long is the whole process, from when you catch it, to when you are healed? Lots and lots of questions I'd like answers to, and scientists and doctors want to know as well....

But we usually do not know all of this information until after the chaos of the epidemic or pandemic is over, and a post mortem, is done.

You tell me who is ‘they’.

I can look on the internet and learn that sickle cell anemia hits all ages equally, both sexes equally, 0.18% will die from it and 98% are blacks. I have no idea who compiled that information but it’s there.

Now why can’t Americans find information on a virus that the government claims is so bad we must send the world into a Great Depression because of it?

You can see how many cases exist.

I want to know the mortality rate in the US and of those that died, how many had preexisting medical issues or were senior citizens? The rate that healthy young adults are dying tells you how bad this virus is.

It’s very basic information that details how bad this really is. Best I can find are estimates on mortality rates. That’s BS. It’s simple math.

And yes, I’m suspicious as to why it is so difficult to learn this information.

If you know of a website that has updated information, please link. If you don’t know either, what’s your guess on why this information is not at our fingertips?
you look at those numbers and in most states the number of recoveries is 0

that one thing tells me the numbers are bogus

Yeah, I’ve noticed that also. Months old cases with zero recovery. It’s like they’re tweaking the data to make things look worse.

Sickle cell anemia was discovered 110 years ago. Are you sure that's a valid comparison? 26 days ago, the yammering nitwit in the White House said we had 15 covid-19 cases, soon to be very close to zero, and you're expecting detailed demographic information on a virus that's been around for a few months. That's not reasonable.
