Socialism at work. Venezuelan hospital infested with opposums.

Michael Moore said Cuba's healthcare system is better than ours, and he is the liberal mentor.

Well, no, he didn't. What he said was that it was nice that Cuba assured EVERY CITIZEN access to health care.
As for it being better, Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate and about the same life expectancy that we have. That's kind of a shameful indictment of our system.
and they also only have 11 million people to deal with who are on the same page or else and not 320 million who are on 100,000 different pages....

How have we "punished" Venezuela? We bought their tar-sand oil (you know the kind you hate in canuckistan but say nothing about in latin America?), get their ballplayers through the visa lines so they get into the States for Spring Training, and have seen them as a tourist attraction until the communists took over and started claiming Duyba was satan. You leftists should try living in all the places you say the US dominates instead of hiding here under the guise of being real Americans.

You ignored the fact that Dubya imposed punishing sanctions after Chavez won the elections... Ones Obama has kept in place.

You know, maybe if we stopped acting like the world's shitty ex-girlfriend, they'd like us better.

.

Horseshit....Dubya did NOT put economic sanctions on Hugo despite adding them to the list of countries involved in narco-trafficking and anti-American rhetoric. Hugo met with Saddam Hussein, often visited his pal Fidel Castro, and claimed we were trying to overthrow him to weld support with his people. We refused to sell him arms and later put travel sanctions on his successor's generals.....that's it. Once again you're either a liar or have no idea what you're talking about. Little wonder you envision yourself a communist but don't dare leave the US.

you do realize that that's actually a sanction, right?

Venezuela-related Sanctions

Hugo met with Saddam Hussein, often visited his pal Fidel Castro, and claimed we were trying to overthrow him to weld support with his people.

He didn't have to claim it. We DID support a coup against him in 2002. Until it turned to shit and then everyone denied being involved.

Guy, it isn't about "communism", it's about us bullying smaller countries when they don't do what we tell them to. We need to knock that shit off.

Yeah, because the United States is the ONLY country in the WHOLE WORLD!

Fuckin' idiot.

Uh, Wrenchy, we might as well be. For instance, I work for a British Company. We can't do business with Cuba becauseof American sanctions. Neither can any of our affiliates in Asia.

Companies that set up shop in Cuba can be sued if they use land or facilities that were seized from Cuban Exiles.

Yeah it IS about communism.....Hugo Chavez was a communist pig as is his successor....they've destroyed the Venzy economy and send drugs into the US via mehico. They believe in communism, are communists, and hate the capitalist system because they suck at it. You want to ignore them go live there...You've never seen how a communist country treats it's citizens. Che had long hair so you believe he was a cool hippie dude...he was a butcher. Raul Castro begged the soviets to nuke the US....that's who Chavez idolized.....Raul, Che, and Fidel....He chose sides and we replied....they're a threat to the US and are being treated as such.

We need to stop telling other people how to run their countries until we learn how to run ours properly.

I don[t have an opinion on che on way or the other. I DO think we created our own mess in Cuba by supporting Batista and then spending the next 50 years punishing them for it.

You do get that most of Latin America hates the United States, right? "Gringo" is not a term of affection.

You don't know shit about latin America or communism....you've never seen it, seen what it does to the human spirit....you think it's a glorious sharing of wealth but it never is...it's the commissar in the house on the hill pissing on your feet while he lives like a baron. You don't know anything about Batista and you obviously don't know shit about Che..."you don't have an opinion" of the man who organized the mass-execution firing squads after Fidel took Havana?

We are a SUPER POWER and we got that way by directing commerce and governmental power toward those around us. You sit here enjoying the fruits of that power while badmouthing it. You think you're a rebel but what you are is a hypocrite and a coward. Go live under a communist dictator or shut the fuck up about the United States that feeds and protects you.

how is that any different from the CEO living in a house on the hill and pissing on my feet?

I'm sure all those bastards who supported Batista had it coming in the minds of the guys on the firing squads. I just think it was our mistake to take so many of them in.

How does being a superpower benefit me in any way? communism or capitalism, I'd still probably be working at the same soul-sucking job for people who don't appreciate it.

Here's the thing, guy, we haven't had anyone attack the US itself militarily since WWII. Nope, sorry, 9/11 doesn't count. The idea that we keep sticking our dicks in other people's countries to make that CEO on the hill a little more obscenely rich doesn't help me in the least.

So, what are you saying JoeB? That there is no difference between a commissar who owes his success to his allegiance to a party and the CEO who buys political favors?

I'd say the CEO is actually kind of worse. The Commisaar has to at least keep people happy to retain his job.

The thing about CEO's is that they really don't care who gets hurt in making more money.

Thanks for your honest answer as it was an honest question (and, not an easy one.).

This is why we have laws that throw people in prison for being corrupt.
