I don't know where you live, but MOST teachers I know and work with are not socialists, just as most auto workers aren't socialists, though their Union is. Republicans have been very careful to differentiate the workers from the Unions. However, the attitude of Republicans toward teachers will force them into the arms of Democrats.

It's been State Legislatures and the Courts that have created the current situation and most teachers work hard to continue to educate students in spite of that they are forced to do.
