blame the PO....there is a rule that they have to take breaks after so many hours, and lunch before a certain time ....we carriers were told the same thing, we have to take a lunch before noon.....i never took a lunch and very seldom took a break.....but i didnt have someone watching me....

That's the Union... . And it's a function of sociopathy common to such.

Where one has clients waiting, one does not take a break.

Many states DO have laws requiring breaks be taken. I am required (not company policy, by Federal law) to take my lunch break no more than 8 hours after starting work for the day. (That usually means by 2:30 for me, since I usually start at 6:30.)

"Many Union States".... (Fixed that for ya.)

its a combination of federal and state laws along with the unions and its not the clerks fault if the management does not cover situations like that ...we have had the rules read to us many a time.....if you are caught violating them you can get a letter of warning and the PO will have to pay you, if they violate the break and lunch laws....like i said its managements call to have people to replace someone who is required to break and they have to be certified by the inspection service...and also like i said....the PO management does not care about customer service,no matter what they tell you.....

So, your concern is that the peons shouldn't be blamed for their failures, which stem directly from the socialism in which they're complicit?

If that was MY OPERATION... and I came into my facility and saw 50 plus people standing in line... while 7 stations went unmanned. There would be a tornado of pink slips FLYING around that facility.

Now this is where you respond by re-emphasizing that State Laws, Unions and the ubiquitous "Management" are the problem... not those individuals hired to SERVE CUSTOMERS, who FAILED TO SERVE CUSTOMERS.

Then we can just repeat this as many times as is necessary to make it appear that there's no problem with the system you're defending, and that the problem is exclusively that of the extremists who need to make something out of nothing... and blame the ever faultless "worker".

Many states, and in some cases, federal regulations. One more time for the slow kid: I am required (not company policy, by Federal law) to take my lunch break no more than 8 hours after starting work for the day.

keyes you are just another in that long line of people on the outside looking in that think they know what is going on internally in the PO.....some of the shit you have said in this thread proves that....like how you think the window clerks are their own bosses....

if you owned the place yea you could do what you want.....if you were the Station Manager the story would be much different....especially if the PM of the city said you have x amount of window clerks, deal with it...
