Something the gop has forgotten

Besides that, the social safety net from that day has come to it's ultimate mathematical conclusion. It's a net drag on the entire economy. It's making productive people into sloths and ultimately, it will collapse. I think republicans , even if in rhetoric only, are on the cutting edge of this realization.

While democrats do not seem to have clue #1 about the pending financial calamity associated with largess welfare.
Better to let people die in the street. Have I captured your true feelings?

These people want 1785 and nothing else really matters. They make the extreme left look sane.

Says the guy who wants to back to the 1960s.

:lmao:

I left the gop because it has forgotten a very basic and important rule. That rule is that people (republican excluded) will vote for the candidate and party that makes their life better.
Oh, sure another "i left the republican party" thread from someone who is clearly full blown LOLberal.

And I haven't seen, in all my years, a candidate make lives better. they fuck up everything they touch. Which is why they were never supposed to have such authority in the first place.
You sir, must be FUCKING blind. Are you telling me that Social Security hasn't made people's lives better? Are you telling me that the federal interstate system hasn't made lives better? Are you telling me that safe food, water, and medicines haven't made people's lives better? Are you telling me that safer cars and safer air travel haven't made peoples lives better? Are you telling me that Medicare and Medicaid haven't made peoples lives better? Are you telling me that getting medical insurance for millions hasn't made their lives better? All of the things I have mentioned above and hundreds more did not just happen! They happened because politicians and the government made them happen. You must really be a dumb shit if you can look around and not see how the government has made people's lives better. Live in Somalia for a month and then, after you are done kissing the ground upon your return, tell me politicians and the government haven't made lives better.

The guy is anti-modern civilization. :doubt: If anything he wants us to live within a corporate controlled shit hole that looks kind of like 17th century England with the corporations being the nobility!

So it's either largess, wasteful, corrupt, bankrupting welfare, or blatant reality skirting hyperbole.

Yeah, tell us more about how you used to be a republican.

What's wrong with that, asshole? Innovation was twice that of today and the population dreamed of advancement.

Not only that America was number one in education, infrastructure and science...You can't say the same about us today.

I left the gop because it has forgotten a very basic and important rule. That rule is that people (republican excluded) will vote for the candidate and party that makes their life better. They will not vote for a candidate or party that makes their life worse. Doing so would be stupidity in the extreme. The gop has forgotten this and believe that making peoples lives harder and more difficult is a winning plan.
If you are on the edge of poverty and fighting to survive each day are you going to vote for a candidate or party that wants to cut food stamps or welfare. And yes, you should get a job but what if that job is minimum wage. Or what if no jobs are available? Are you going to vote for the candidate who is against jobs bills and raising minimum wage? Are you going to vote for a candidate who wants to make sure you are denied medical care? The bottom line is you will vote for the candidate and party that makes your life better.
Just for the hell of it I have posted a segment of the republican party platform from the Eisenhower years. Think of what the republican party was for then and what it is for now.
"We shall continue vigorously to support the United Nations."

"Continuance of the vigorous SEC policies which are providing maximum protection to the investor and maximum opportunity for the financing of small business without costly red tape."

"The record of performance of the Republican Administration on behalf of our working men and women goes still further. The Federal minimum wage has been raised for more than 2 million workers. Social Security has been extended to an additional 10 million workers and the benefits raised for 6 1/2 million."

"All workers have gained and unions have grown in strength and responsibility, and have increased their membership by 2 millions."

"Assure equal pay for equal work regardless of Sex;"

"We recommend to Congress the submission of a constitutional amendment providing equal rights for men and women."

"We shall continue to seek extension and perfection of a sound social security system."

The republican party of today is against almost EVERY ONE of these positions. Is it any wonder only about 25% of Americans consider themselves republicans. Oh, and I should point out that number is getting smaller.

You left the GOP because you are a selfish asshole, and the GOP didn't support your ambition to make your life easier at the expense of everyone else?

I was handed this script by Obama for America and I was instructed to say "I was a Republican until <insert inciting incident>..."
I, unlike many on this board, do not lie. I am a registered republican and have been one since 1967. I stopped voting republican during the Reagan years. I stopped because I was getting trickled on but not in the way Reagan meant. Since that time I have watched the gop move farther and farther to the right. By the way, did you even read the gop platform under Eisenhower? Are you so blind you cannot see that the gop then and the gop now are two completely different parties? Are you really so blind you cannot see that?

What's wrong with it, is that the policies that were put into place throughout the 1900s led us directly here. We can not go back to the "golden times" you like because we're broke. I realize economics is not the forte of the left, or most modern whiners, but that is the case.

Quite an impressive list in your sigline. NOW be objective and juxtapose what you put there and compare it to those YOU worship on the left. You won't because YOU are a poseur.:eusa_hand:

how does costing us jobs, making our insurance deductables skyrocket, getting us kicked off insurance, inflating our fuel and food prices, destablizing the world, spending our children's money, making us work 1/3 of the year to pay off the government, and paying off Democrat campaign contributors with tax money make our lives easier?

The Obama regime and the Zombified Democrats, since the 1980's or so, have managed to force the country farther and farther to the Left. And the economy has become so bad and things so toxic that, like battered and abused wives, many of us feel we can't possibly do without Government's assistance or else we will be homeless, penniless, jobless and go hungry.

And they, the Government (i.e. THE ABUSIVE HUSBAND), keeps us dependent so they can control us and maintain their power.

With the right hand they bash and batter us. With the left hand they soothe us and give us just enough of what we need to make us hesitant to leave their abusive totalitarianism.

And rather than make everything in your post HUGE the better way to increase readership is to format your text so it isn't one big intimidating text block.

Notice the way I have reformatted your post. (I left the to show you that they aren't necessary with every sentence or paragraph, either. One at the begionning and at the end of your text would suffice, if you are committed to increasing the point size.)

Sometimes more is more.

Sometimes less is more.

I am still a registered Republican and still vote for Republicans at the local level. I gave up on the party at the national level during the Newt Gingrich revolution. I wanted no part of that type of Republican

I jumped the fucking ship when they started threatening blind slash, cut and fuck of science, research and things that were common sense. As long as the tea party is part of the republican party they can count me out!

If you are going to oppose freedom for more government programs, we dont want you.

Well then, the progressives and Democratic party has failed. I'm sure you'll try and blame BOOOSH!, after all he is the most evil and most powerful POTUS of all time, and yet, this is after 4 solid years of OBAMA'S REGIME. A thinking person would wonder where the Democrats have gone wrong.

I sure am...

Hey, dumb dumb, in the past both the republican and Democratic parties worked for ALL Americans. Richard Nixon gave this country the EPA which protects and benefits all Americans. Exactly what has the gop given this country lately besides wars and a failed economy. As far as I am concerned the gop is for NOTHING but they are against equal pay for equal work, woman's rights, increases in the minimum wage, healthcare for all Americans, a sound immigration policy, helping the needy, and pretty much anything else that does not benefit the 1%.
Maybe you could give me a list of some of the things the gop is for that will benefit all Americans.
