Steve Bannon Has Strong Legal Grounds to get His J-6 Contempt Conviction Tossed

Mr. Bannon is a senior citizen convicted of a non-violent offense, and is unlikely to reoffend. Shouldn't he be considered a prime candidate for rehabilitation and alternative disposition instead of being sent to prison?

Here in Pennsylvania, Mr. Fetterman thinks that 2nd degree murderers should skate, is failing to appear for a subpoena really more serious than murder for hire in Biden's opinion?
Mr Bannon is a criminal scam artist, pardoned by a criminal scam artist... He would most certainly do, what he did, again.

Claiming executive privilege, does not give an out, for not showing up for a subpoena. You do not get to claim executive privilege and just not be questioned.... The privilege is for one question at a time. There would be questions not covered by executive privilege, that he would have to answer....or perhaps plead the fifth on....

i'm not a criminal law expert and never pretended to be.

However, my point is that this is a non-violent offense that Mr. Bannon was convicted of, and he is a 1st time offender with a clean record as well as a senior citizen.

Probation would be just a lot more appropriate that putting him into a cage with serial murderers and mattress tag rippers

You are a criminal scam artist posting your criminal scams on USMB. Claiming you are a harmless poster does not give you an out.
What crime did Bannon commit?
We already know you are a criminal and regularly participate in acts of treason, sedition and insurrection against our Democracy and have tried to overturn our elections.

You are also an election denier.

Of course Bannon will do it again. He's an anarchist who has repeatedly said he wants to bring down all American institutions and traditions.

What did Bannon do, again? Please spell that out for us.

Explain that to us.

Bannon is being charged with what? Contempt of Jan 6 Jackoff Circle Jerk Committee? They claimed he refused a Subpoena to testify, which is a lie. He said he would testify, but he wanted it to be live and Public because of what Adam Schiff tried to do to Eric Trump. President Trump also made the same offer and they rejected his offer to testify publicly in a live broadcast.

If the Jan 6 Jackoff Circle Jerk Committee were legitimate, they would have no issue with public testimony.
But it's nothing more than a political stunt, same as The Treasonous Operation Russian Collusion Crossfire Hurricane COUP, Moscow Mueller sham investigation, and Maro Lago Panty Raid.

America is lost if we can't curtail the political power of The DemNazi party. We are being run by Nazi Globalist Fascists who care nothing for this country. This is the stuff they did in Germany with Show trials and Show Raids against anyone that opposed the Nazi Party.

If we don't stop this DemNazi Blitzkrieg against our Democracy within the next 2 years, there will be NO MORE DEMOCRACY.

DemNazis same as Them Nazis.

Hard to disagree with anything in this post.

No. He is not clean as a whistle as you claim, and he defied the subpoena and the law.

Allowing him to get just a slap on the wrist, is an insult to the rule of law and makes future criminals believe they too, could be criminals and do the same thing, and just get a slap on the wrist...

And subpoenas will become useless.

How big of an insult to the rule of law was it to give Holder a complete and total pass for his contempt of Congress?

Exactly.

No special treatment....Treat him the same way that Eric Holder was.

Great news! American Patriot Steve Bannon doesn't deserve to go to prison.

informative

But bidum thinks he is a dictator and so we should all see him as such and comply like the stupid sheep he thinks we are

Eric holder did not get a complete pass, he was in contempt of congress. But his case was also in the civil courts, where he/President Obama, legally sued in the courts where a judge was to determine if there was executive privilege by the president that covered what congress wanted. So the Doj had no action they could take, it was up to the judge.

The judge determined that Holder would have to turn over to congress the documents and emails Holder/Obama was not giving to them.

Holder complied with the Judge/Court ruling, and TURNED OVER EVERYTHING the congress had subpoenaed.

The judge then decided not to charge Holder, with contempt because he complied with the ruling, and felt congress was premature in doing so, knowing the case was being litigated in court.

Holder also showed up in congress, and under oath, answered all other questions that there was no executive privilege claim.

And Holder worked for the executive branch and Obama WAS the sitting president, unlike Steve Bannon who left his executive position under Trump 4 years earlier, and Trump was no longer the executive, he was a former president.

The cases are incomparable.

Holder got a total pass.

You didn't used to lie like this back in the day.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that the DOJ tosses out cases or ignores them based on what happens in a civil courtroom

Of course they would, when the civil court judge is who determines the executive privilege claim.

The Doj can't charge a person with a crime, if there was no crime committed.
