There is, in my opinion, an argument for raising taxes on the average American. However, just own it, dont whine that the source can't be right. Especially when only the most partisan sources consider the TPC to be bias

No. I think if you are going to ask the middle class to shoulder a higher tax burden, you have to balance that by asking the 1% to do the same.

I would too. Hell break out the sound bites of Romney complaining that half the country doesnt pay income taxes and how unfair that is, the "I'm not worried about the poor", and the picture of him holding up money and Romney basically wrote the commercial for him.

Whether you think it's fair or not, it's smart politics to paint Romney as the rich mans candidate.

It's much more than 1%, but isn't it stupid to ask the middle class to pay higher taxes while using credit to allow the top percentage to get a huge tax cut? How does that make sense? A simpler plan to create jobs would be to go back to the Eisenhower rates. The wealthy would be forced to reinvest, using before tax income, to create jobs. They'd preserve wealth and the American people would have job opportunities.

The problem is, we have 2 separate issues, a crushing debt and a recession. I think we need to focus on one while being conscience of the other.

Too bad Romney doesn't to have much of a Christian conscience. His plan is to raise taxes on the poor and middle class, while cutting taxes on the rich.

The number one reason that middle/low income households might pay no federal income taxes is that they have children.

Thousands of dollars worth of tax breaks directly related to having children are the main cause for income taxes going to zero for these people.
