Sweating Obama Admits Drone Strikes Have Been Happening On Their Own

What else would you expect from the Obama-bots?

These are the same people who consider Jon Stewart a serious journalist.

These are the same people who worship at the altar of Arianna Huffington and George Soros and the clowns on MSNBC.

Now these are the people who believe that The Onion should be taken seriously.

What's next? Sponge Bob Square Pants and Beavis & Butthead quotes will start appearing in this forum?

Interestingly, it's been proven scientifically that people that watch Jon Stewart are better informed than those that watch Fox.
In fact, science teaches us that people that watch no news at all are better informed than those that watch Fox....................true............it's science.

Fox News Viewers Know Less Than People Who Don't Watch Any News: Study
The largest effect is that of Fox News: all else being equal, someone who watched only Fox News would be expected to answer just 1.04 domestic questions correctly -- a figure which is significantly worse than if they had reported watching no media at all. On the other hand, if they listened only to NPR, they would be expected to answer 1.51 questions correctly; viewers of Sunday morning talk shows fare similarly well. And people watching only "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" could answer about 1.42 questions correctly.

Huffpo and others jumped on that bit of information and put it out there as groundbreaking because they knew their gullible followers would eat it up. But it has been thoroughly debunked:
PolitiFact | Jon Stewart says those who watch Fox News are the "most consistently misinformed media viewers"

The reason the Onion story though is funny and clever satire, however, is that it is satirical commentary on something that is actually happening, as all satire is. All humor has to be based on an element of reality or how we view our world or it isn't funny. Jon Stewart is very good at what he does which is satire. And he sometimes gets it right at the core. And sometimes he doesn't.

Right. The Huffington Post? That's a truly unbiased "news" source. Huffington Post is to printed "news" as Jon Stewart is to televised "news". Your article has as much validity as the Onion piece used in the OP.
I wonder what the questions were?

You have a legitimate link? Or are you just going to chuck-up crap like the Huff-n-Puff?

Huffpo is actually trying to be a legitimate news source, but shame on them for not doing their homework on that study before presenting it as authentic. Or maybe they did and decided to publish the story they did knowing how gullible their base readership is and hoping to hurt Fox News in the process?

I did amend my previous post a bit to include the gullibility factor.

But hey. There were some who took the Onion story literally too, so how easy is it to fool some people? :)

Evenso, the Onion story is great only because it is satire of a real issue and is making the point, in an exaggerated satirical way, of a real issue that should be of interest to us all.

1. To the best of your knowledge, have the opposition groups protesting in Egypt been successful in removing Hosni Mubarak ?
2. How about the opposition groups in Syria? Have they been successful in removing Bashar al-Assad?
3. Some countries in Europe are deeply in debt, and have had to be bailed out by other countries. To the best of your knowledge, which country has had to spend the most money to bail out European countries?
4. There have been increasing talks about economic sanctions against Iran. What are these sanctions supposed to do?
5. Which party has the most seats in the House of Representatives right now?
6. In December, House Republicans agreed to a short-term extension of a payroll tax cut, but only if President Obama agreed to do what?
7. It took a long time to get the final results of the Iowa caucuses for Republican candidates. In the end, who was declared the winner?
8. How about the New Hampshire Primary? Which Republican won that race?
9. According to official figures, about what percentage of Americans are currently unemployed?

I thought it was a fun story.

Seems that Drones are becoming sentient!

WASHINGTON—Speaking at a hastily called White House press conference Friday, a visibly tense and perspiring President Barack Obama confessed that the United States’ fleet of roughly 700 armed drones have been conducting airstrikes entirely on their own for the past several years. “Look, I’m just going to come clean here: Every single U.S. drone currently deployed has been selecting and bombing targets without any guidance from military officials on the ground,” a trembling Obama told reporters, admitting that he last authorized a drone attack in 2010, and that recent strikes in Pakistan, Yemen, and most perplexingly, the Philippines, have been planned and executed entirely by the unmanned combat air vehicles themselves. “I’ll admit that the extensive use of drone aircraft was something my administration readily embraced, but we’ve lost all contact with these things, and as it stands now, we have no idea who or what is controlling them—or if they’re even being controlled at all. Jesus, these things are terrifying. We need to shut them down before it’s too late!” At press time, all the blood had reportedly drained from Obama’s face and he stood stock-still as a faint whirring noise could be heard high above the White House briefing room

This was a more widespread study carried out a year after Jon Stewart mentioned it.
So no, it hasn't been debunked.
