Texas Governor Signs Toughest Sanctuary City Law in U.S.A.

^^ A libertarian enjoying a state government forcing a city government to follow federal laws.

One can be a libertarian and also be a federalist. Federalists know the States have far more power in their borders than the federal government (should) have.

The law will be enjoined in the Courts.

The Austin police are now following the Gov and the Lt Gov, itching to arrest them for anything.

how so? Unlike the break between federal and State actions found in the US constitution, Local governance in the States is entirely dictated by "home rule" provisions via law and the State's own constitution. State governments have great leeway in deciding what their cities, villages, towns, and counties/parishes can and cannot do.
Yes, of course, they do, within the governance of the state and federal constitutions, as well as federal legislation.

What part of the constitution stops a state government from telling its local governments to follow federal regulations?

Your cognitive dissonance, rooted in your opinion, is not "truth."

What part of the constitution stops a state government from telling its local governments to follow federal regulations?
You asked the question and then answered it with the discredited "home rule" nonsense that liberts love to pull out. The law, as you well know, does not follow your line of thinking.

THE TEXAS CONSTITUTION ARTICLE 11. MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS

From the Texas State Constitution:

CLASSIFICATION OF MUNICIPAL FUNCTIONS. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this constitution, the legislature may by law define for all purposes those functions of a municipality that are to be considered governmental and those that are proprietary, including reclassifying a function's classification assigned under prior statute or common law.

(b) This section applies to laws enacted by the 70th Legislature, Regular Session, 1987, and to all subsequent regular or special sessions of the legislature.

Subject to the state constitution, the federal judiciary, and federal legislation.

You know this, marty.

"Refuse to honor immigration detainers"? What the hell does "honor immigration detainers" mean? Who writes this stuff? Why not say "refuses to obey the federal immigration law"?

The law will go into effect Sep- 1 - 2017 :2up:

All the Texas police chiefs have expressed opposition to the new law.

And both Dallas and Austin remain sanctuary cities.

The message is clear, illegals get the hell out of our country and illegal collaborators you will find yourselves in jail for being traitorous filthy scumbags.

God Bless Texas Governor Greg Abbott !!!

The new law is now the toughest anti-sanctuary city law in the United States and provides for criminal and civil penalties for police chiefs and sheriff’s that refuse to honor immigration detainers.!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2:
