Texas or “TAXas”? Texas taxes more than Cali (except wealthy.)

Exactly.

KKKalifornians pay 31.8% of their family income in taxes, Texans pay 25.8% of their family income in taxes.

citygator is an economic moron.
No moron.

If you are poor in Cali you pay 10.5% of your income in taxes.

If you are poor in Texas you pay 13% in taxes.

You pay less in California.

Now if you are super wealthy in Cali.. you pay 12.4% but if you are super wealthy in Texas.. you pay about 3%.

The wealthy pay waaaaaaaay less to live in Texas. It’s trickle down economics that doesn’t work.

You are FUUUUNNNNYYYYY!!!!! This post belongs in HUMOR!!

I've lived in CA and TX, and I can tell you for a FACT that what you posted is all LIES.

Living in CA, the taxes taken out of my paycheck were at 12-13 percent. The taxes taken out of my paycheck living in Texas, is 10-11 percent.

CA has taxes on EVERYTHING.
TX does not tax food, as it should be.

CA taxes go directly into the pockets of the politicians in office, and the corrupt corporations that back them.
TX taxes go into defending the border as much as possible, welfare, and unemployment.

TX is not perfect, but it's cheaper to live here than in CA!!! Why do you think all these companies keep moving to Texas from up North and from CA???? It ain't because of the heat!!!
No tax on food in CA. Wages are lower in Texas. All in all it's pretty much a wash between the 2 States, except for putting up with dumb fn Texans.

Sadly, I’m the only one here who cares enough about you dumb fucks to try and help educate you. I have a soft spot for you.

While these rich asses wave American flags, scare you about brown people, and scream Marxist…a word you don’t know what it means… they are picking your damn pocket without you noticing.
You are an idiot , you couldn't educate a flea.

Here in Texas:
If you work, you pay no state income tax.
If you make a purchase, everybody pays the same tax rate.
Property taxes are levied based on assessed property values.

If the local government /school board is collecting more from lower income people, it is only because there are vastly more of them owning/occupying lower valued property.
If you pay property taxes, you're doing alright. PERIOD.

California is a donor state to the federal government. The largest actually. It’s just paid by the rich and not the middle class and poor. You get that right?

And the state that has the highest number of SNAP recipients as well. California is what we typically call a "liberal shithole."

ETA I forgot fuel taxes, the more you drive the more you pay.

Texas is a model for what a Republican nation would look like. High regressive taxes for all… except the elite rich. Basically the anti-Robinhood. Take from the middle class and poor give to the rich. Unless you’re rich you pay more taxes than liberals of California.

How many of you right wingers actually look before you leap?

Those coming to Texas for a tax break may want to turn around if they are not in the top 1 percent of earners.

This graphic is of data from the sixth edition of the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy's "Who Pays" series, which tracks tax data for all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The last time the nonprofit released data was in 2018, but it is expected to release updated findings later this year.

Texans in the bottom 20 percent of income earners — those earning less than $20,900 — pay 13 percent of their income in state and local taxes, while those in the top 1 percent of income earners — those earning $617,900 or more — pay only 3.1 percent.

In California, the bottom 20 percent of income earners — those earning less than $23,200 — pay 10.5 percent in state and local taxes, while the top 20 percent — those earning $714,400 or more — pay 12.4 percent.
Your graph...ITEP.org? Progressives for the people? :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301: :auiqs.jpg: :rolleyes-41:
City Gator, how can anyone take you serious when you use hack sites for facts?
You are a certain kind of 'special'. :smoke:

NO matter what state you live in Those with the most money/power have better access to Everything.

And yet California, like all blue states, are more expensive to live in, and California is always year after year right at or near the top.

They must all want to pay MORE in taxes.

:laughing0301:
I screwed that up. 13% of Californians are now Texans. Still, that is a huge number. Many of those are Spanish speaking. Same as in Texas so they have something in common and feel right at home. And yes, if they aren't in the 1% they will pay more in taxes than they did in CA. Kudos to the OP and the Houston Chronicle.

Literally..

DigitalDrifter, you laid down two great posts, and it seems our friends from the left
will avoid those two posts of yours as if they were the plague. :clap2:

It’s because poor people spend all there money and are taxes on 100% of what they earn. Rich people spend a small part of what they earn so they pay a tiny percent of what they earn. I know that’s a bit confusing but it’s 100% true.

Never underestimate the left to come up with bottomless cherry picked facts. There's really only one stat that really shows the truth:

They sure love their taxes in Texas.
