The 2nd Amendment for dumbocrats

The FBI data also notes that Washington, D.C. had the highest murder rate per 100,000 people. The nation’s capital saw 12 gun murders per 100,000 in 2011. DC also finished first in gun-related robberies per 100,000 people – with 242.56.

In 1976, the District of Columbia required all guns be registered, banned new handguns and required guns at home to be stored and dissembled or locked up. Unfortunately, the draconian measures — which lasted more than three decades — didn’t had the desired effect (then again, does idiot libtard dumbocrat policy ever achieve the "desired effect"?!?)

In 2011, Utah, the state that the Brady Campaign determined had the least gun control, experienced just 26 gun murders and a firearms murder rate of 0.97. Utah has a population 2.8 million.

Okay, do you have any stats from a state not occupied by braindead cultists who don't do anything their cult leaders don't tell them to do.

The 2nd amendment was written because of the injuns and the red coats. Stop living in the past.

:lmao:

So was the 1st Amendment, the 4th Amendment, and the 5th Amendment. So you should immediately surrender your right to free speech and go the fuck away from USMB.

(hey, if you're just going to make up shit about history, so I will I...)

The 2nd amendment was written because of the injuns and the red coats. Stop living in the past.

actually it was written to reaffirm ones right

to self defense

now on the other hand the first gun control laws

had been written to control folks like blacks and indians

And this is here is why, like all things dumbocrat, the libtard ideology is incapable of holding up under debate:

"For more than a hundred years, the answer was clear, even if the words of the amendment itself were not."

The U.S. Constitution is the highest law in the land. It is written in black & white and not up for debate (it can be amended, but that requires following the amendment process - the only legal procedure for altering the Constitution).

Now, here is where the dumbocrat completely falls apart. Laws such as rape, or even considerably lesser laws such as the speed limit, you will never hear a libtard dumbocrat argue are "living, breathing laws" or "open for interpretation". NEVER. A speed limit of 25 is not open to the interpretation of the driver. Laws against rape are not open to interpretation of the rapist. Yet, the libtard dumbocrat tries to make the case that the highest law of the land is really just a suggestion or guideline and the people - especially the Supreme Court - can ignore it or otherwise alter its meaning as they see fit.

It's just another example of the extraordinary inconsistency, contradictory, and hypocrisy of the libtard dumbocrat.

...self defense from injuns and red coats. And ok, to shoot *******. :D

You think so huh?

The GOP is done.

That's what the Left Thought in 1994... Didn't the (D)'s Dominate 2/3 to 3/3 of Government for 4 Decades before then?...

Obama Lost Ground in 2012 from 2008.

He's Hurting something Serious right now and so is his Party.

Talk to me after the 2014 Elections about how "done" the GOP is.

They still Control the House, in case you didn't notice.

:)

peace...

One election doesn't change trajectories.

The GOP has only won 1 popular vote in the last six for president. In that case, they had an incumbant president during an ongoing war with a weak opponent, and they STILL only got 51%.

The only reason why the GOP retained the house was that they Gerrymandered the districts to protect their seats. But demographics will fix that in a decade as all these city folks move to the suburbs.

Libtard logic... :lmao:

“It might sound unbelievable, but back in 1904, London—a city with a population of around 7 million and the envy of the civilized world—reported just two gun murders and five armed robberies.

Crime differs across nations and over time for a vast array of reasons, some of which we may never fully understand. However, for countries that have abruptly changed their rules regarding gun ownership or gun carrying, we can look at what happened right after the changes.

And what do we find? The results might surprise you: In every single place that all guns or handguns were banned, murder rates went up.”

“According to Joyce Lee Malcolm, a professor at George Mason University Law School and author of Guns and Violence: The English Experience, “Since 1920, anyone in Britain wanting a handgun had to obtain a certificate from his local police stating he was fit to own a weapon and had good reason to have one. Over the years, the definition of ‘good reason’ gradually narrowed. By 1969, self-defense was never a good reason for a permit.”

In 1987, after a massacre in Hungerford, England, killed sixteen people and
wounded fourteen others (since no one else had a gun, including the police, the killer roamed for eight hours), the government cracked down. Semi-automatic rifles were banned and shotguns were regulated like handguns.

Nine years later, the Dunblane massacre in Scotland resulted in the final blow to gun ownership. The Firearms Act of 1997 banned handguns almost entirely—forcing lawful owners to turn them in or face ten years in prison.”

“What happened next? Professor Malcolm has summarized it well:

The results have not been what proponents of the act wanted. Within a decade of the handgun ban and the confiscation of handguns from registered owners, crime with handguns had doubled according to British government crime reports. Gun crime, not a serious problem in the past, now is. Armed street gangs have some British police carrying guns for the first time. Moreover, another massacre occurred in June 2010. Derrick Bird, a taxi driver in Cumbria, shot his brother and a colleague then drove off through rural villages killing 12 people and injuring 11 more before killing himself.

The homicide rate in Britain rose dramatically for seven years after the ban, from 1.1 homicides per 100,000 people in 1996 to 1.8 in 2003. At that point, fed up with the sudden increase in murder and violent crime, the police force was expanded by 16 percent between 2001 and 2005. Unsurprisingly, more police meant less crime. Still, even with the increased police presence, crime generally remained higher than before the Firearms Act.”
