Jews read the Old Testament.
Many African-Americans celebrate Kwanzaa
Italians have a different approach to Catholicism than the Irish.
There is a distinct ethnicity-based approach to understanding the diversity of religions across the world.
However, morality is still morality and is based on universal standards of sin/crime (e.g., forbidden murder, undesirable theft/vandalism, betrayal-based adultery, etc.).
When we read of American comic book vigilantes such as Batman (DC Comics) tackling super-monsters such as Predator, Riddler, or Leatherface, we get the idea that fear is still fear, regardless of color/ethnicity/culture.
So how do we actually learn from these pop art avatars and use them to talk more progressively about the maddening negotiations between the religions of the world?
