With all due respect, IM2...that article doesn't tell you squat about the Paris agreement other than Trump got us out of it! Be honest with the board and tell us how one sided of a deal it was for the US. What you call "leadership" by us was Obama signing us up to cut our emissions by large amounts while polluters like China and India don't have to even START to cut theirs for years with ZERO guarantees that they will cut them at all! What kind of an idiot signs THAT?

But you don't seem to understand that Trump didn't get us out of anything because we are not required to do anything right now. But in 2020 that's really when things start. So if Trump is gone in 2020, then all this is just a ceremony Trump put together to impress his base. But the problem with that is he is no longer running a campaign and he must act for all the American people which he did not do in this case.

None of the countries that signed the accord are "required" to do anything, IM2...they've signed on to do things voluntarily! The thing that makes it an awful deal is that Obama signed us up to cut our emissions first and by a large amount before countries like China and India have to cut theirs. There is nothing in that accord that guarantees us that after crippling our economy by making our businesses buy more expensive energy that our competition will comply with the accord years down the line. Once again...who would sign such a bad deal?
