The Definitive Critical Race Theory Thread

"Voters also opposed the idea that schools should teach Marxist critical race theory in schools. Sixty-one percent said that elementary schools should not teach kids “that America is structurally racist and is dominated by white supremacy,” the conclusion of increasingly mainstream CRT, which has sparked a civil war in education.

Democrats have obfuscated the issue, claiming that concern about CRT is a “conspiracy theory” or even a manifestation of white “privilege.” Such claims effectively erase the black parents, black teachers, and Asian organizations that have rightly condemned CRT. The fact that 61 percent of voters told Harvard they oppose CRT in schools underscores the cross-racial opposition to CRT.

Significant for another reason, aside from the rejection of Marxism....

I'll bet that that same result as found in the Critical Race Theory poll.....

....reflects the actual results of the recent presidential election, with Quid Pro Joe at the losing end.

I don't subscribe to CRT as a whole, but I do think that there are some thoughts from it worth understanding and examining. That is that racism isn't always overt, or obvious.

When I am having a bad day, I find solace knowing that idiots like you are having such a horrible time with the reality that Biden/Kamala are in power and every day seems like an eternity for you :p :p :p

Let's be very clear as to what would be injected into vulnerable little children if Critical Race Theory is taught.....as it is in so very many government schools now......

Every American is either a victim or an oppressor.

Are you for that being instituted?

No quibbling.......yes, or no.

I am not. But I also think that people are quick to label something as belonging to CRT when it does or can stand on it's own. Phil Vischer's videos on systemic racism, for instance, have been accused of being CRT when they are not.

Third graders reportedly made to ‘deconstruct’ their identities, rank themselves according to power and privilege An elementary school in Cupertino, California was reportedly caught brainwashing its third-grade students with the illiberal, racist doctrines of critical race theory.

Florida parents say the board's pledge promotes racism rather than dismantling it

In a mission statement posted to the board’s website, it vowed to eliminate racism and systems of inequity, but Florida parents have argued the statement is at odds with their intended goal.

"Your statement is dividing us, and it incites racism," mother of two, Jessica Martinez, told board members Wednesday, according to The Palm Beach Post.

The statement says the board is committed to "dismantling structures rooted in white advantage and transforming our system by hearing and elevating under-represented voices, sharing power, recognizing and eliminating bias, and redistributing resources to provide equitable outcomes."

"Equity, as you are calling it, is a political view and it is racist," Amanda Silvestri told the board. "None of this despicable, political, racist nonsense should be pushed on innocent children and has absolutely no business being taught in schools," she added."

You support this shit.

I am not. But I also think that people are quick to label something as belonging to CRT when it does or can stand on it's own. Phil Vischer's videos on systemic racism, for instance, have been accused of being CRT when they are not.

I don't know if the OP brought you to reply, but I was specific as to what we are talking about, and what it should be compared to:

1. Critical Race Theory, in the definition proposed in the 1993 book Words That Wound, co-authored by Mari Matsuda, Charles Lawrence III, Richard Delgado, and Kimberlè Crenshaw:

"Critical race theory recognizes that racism is endemic to American life. Rather than seeing racism as aberrational, CRT scholars see it as the norm.

Critical race theory expresses skepticism toward dominant legal claims of neutrality, objectivity, color blindness, and meritocracy.

More important, as critical race theorists we adopt a stance that presumes that racism has contributed to all contemporary manifestations of group advantage and disadvantage along racial lines, including differences in income, imprisonment, health, housing, education, political representation, and military service. Our history calls for this presumption….whites must simply defer to the voices of their non-white peers."

2. The simplest rebuttal is this statement of America’s Creed, which is the opposite of CRT.

…the creed embodies “the political principles of liberty, equality, democracy, individualism, human rights, the rule of law, and private property.” Samuel P. Huntington’s Who Are We? The Challenges to America’s National Identity, p.46

3. A detailed and step-wise dismembering of the aberrant anti-humanity Critical Race Theory, by James A. Lindsay, begins here:

“ Critical Race Theory believes racism is present in every aspect of life, every relationship, and every interaction.

…the usual way society does business, the common, everyday experience of most people of color in this country,”

… what they mean by “racism” isn’t even what most people think racism means. It is not prejudice based upon race or believing some races to be superior or inferior to others that they mean by “racism.” It is, instead, the “system” of everything that happens in the social world and beyond that results in any disparity that works in the favor of “racially privileged” groups (on average) or any “racially oppressed” person claiming they experience racial oppression.

… people who take up Critical Race Theory to look for racism in everything until they find it.

In the workplace that adopts Critical Race Theory, this means that it’s only a matter of time until someone with that worldview finds out how your entire company and its culture is “racist.” At that point, they will cause a meltdown that forces everyone to take sides and demand a reorganization of the entire (now divided) office culture and management.

In schools, it will mean teaching our children to think this way and always be looking for racism in every situation and interaction. In our personal relationships, it means that friends and even family members—especially our kids who have already been educated with Critical Race Theory ideas that have been incorporated in our schools—will eventually call each other out and reject one another, because tolerating racism is also considered a form of racism t

hat would have to be discovered and stopped.”

Eight Big Reasons Critical Race Theory Is Terrible for Dealing with Racism

This is the binary system into which the Left has plunged America: to vote Democrat is to endorse Critical Race Theory....,

.....and vice versa.

You know, you're probably right...Thinking a completely made up theory with zero supporting evidence should be taught while pitching a fit and falling into it about teaching a theory with decades of supporting evidence isn't hypocritical, it's straight up ignorant. Thanks!
Intelligent design DOES NOT have decades of supporting evidence. You are correct about CRT being made up bull shit, though.

We have actually had decades of by way of CRT is refutation. Blacks have systematic ADVANTAGE over all other groups, most notably Asian and Jewish via the implementation of affirmative action.
You got it bass akwards, princess. Intelligent design theory has zero supporting evidence. Critical race theory has decades. From segregation to Jim Crow and beyond.

Gosh, thanks. I always heard that opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they all stink.

The only word I need when it comes to you is H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E.

You think it's perfectly fine to teach intelligent design theory, a theory that has ZERO supporting evidence but do not want Critical Race Theory taught in school despite plenty of evidence that supporters it.

That is retarded. This country has had a bi-partisan consensus supporting racial equality for generations.

Anyone that would claim otherwise is either retarded or a filthy liar.
Unenforced and fought hard against.

There was some push back sure, especially in the beginning, but, the policies and laws have been enforced and followed.

Third graders reportedly made to ‘deconstruct’ their identities, rank themselves according to power and privilege An elementary school in Cupertino, California was reportedly caught brainwashing its third-grade students with the illiberal, racist doctrines of critical race theory.

Whistleblower documents provided to filmmaker, writer, and researcher Christopher Rufo of the Discovery Institute show that the children were forced to “deconstruct their racial and sexual identities” and “rank themselves according to their ‘power and privilege. “The teacher explained that the students live in a ‘dominant culture’ of ‘white, middle class, cisgender, educated, able-bodied, Christian, English-speaker,’ who, according to the lesson, ‘created and maintained’ this culture in order ‘to hold power and stay in power.' ”The teacher basically taught the children that normal, everyday white people — particularly the ones who are Christian — are bad.'” Third graders reportedly made to ‘deconstruct’ their identities, rank themselves according to power and privilege

“A Philadelphia elementary school recently forced fifth-grade students to celebrate “black communism” and simulate a Black Power rally in honor of political radical Angela Davis.

According to whistleblower documents and a source within the school, a fifth-grade teacher at the inner-city William D. Kelley School designed a social studies curriculum to celebrate Davis, praising the “black communist” for her fight against “injustice and inequality.”

…marched on the stage, holding signs that read “Black Power,” “Jail Trump,” “Free Angela,” and “Black Power Matters.”

Academically, it is one of the worst-performing schools in Pennsylvania. By sixth grade, only 3 percent of students are proficient in math, and 9 percent are proficient in reading. By graduation, only 13 percent of Kelley students will have achieved basic literacy.

Despite this abysmal academic performance, teachers and administrators at William Kelley have gradually abandoned traditional pedagogy in favor of political radicalism.”

"Florida parents outraged by school's 'White advantage' statement

"The American Rescue Plan (ARP) requires school districts to reserve 20 percent of funds for “evidence-based” interventions that “respond to students’ academic, social, and emotional needs”—a very sensible charge. But the devil is in the definition, and the administration’s guidance booklet for spending ARP funds suggests that students’ social and emotional needs include the disruption of “whiteness” and the propagation of Critical Race Theory (CRT) ideology. The “Roadmap to Reopening Safely and Meeting All Students’ Needs” explains that “schools are microcosms of society,” and that therefore “intentional conversations related to race and social emotional learning . . . are the foundation for participating in a democracy and should be anchor tenets in building a schoolwide system of educational opportunity.”

Officially, not actually.

Yes, it has. Your denial is insane.

Since the dems gave up on w.s., both parties have formally and consistently supported the goal of racial equality with word and policy and action.

The debate has primarily been one of HOW to best do it, buried under an ever increasing amount of false accusations of wacism.

Whoa. That's some serious crazy you have there.
Don't be stupider than you have to be. Facing the reality you are denying doesn't make us crazy. It makes you crazy.

The reality is that this country has embraced racial equality since before I was born. I've never known anything else. YOUr claims otherwise are literally delusional.
