The Demise of the Republican Party

No one can prevent me from hoping our country can be salvaged. As I've said, we have got to stop politicians from diverting attention off their BS and hold them accountable for the mess we're in. They act like everything was hunky-dory before Cruz came along and he ruined it for everyone. NOT. The TP is primarily made up of blue collar workers tired of watching their paychecks shrink to pay for gov't waste.

Keep hope your hope for a better America, for that is pure patriotism.

The TP is primarily made up of elderly white folks who lost the political and cultural wars of the sixties and seventies, see their demise approaching personally and jointly, and are raising one last hurrah before passing the veil.

Never been to a tea party meeting have you, your ignorance speaks volumes.

Been to many in East Texas, from 2009 until last December. Very, very, very few faces of color and almost none under fifty.

So I smile at the crazy OKTexas, pat him on the shoulder, step around him, and keep walking.

Well ya senile old fart maybe you should get out of the trees so you can see the forest.

There is no socialist party and there is no libertarian party.

And nothing of significance of either side will appear again.

I see. So you fuckers will reach a compromise: The American Fascist Party? .

I hope not, but I know that libertarianism would cave immediately to the enticements of corporatism, because you guys are in it for yourselves only.

Well, sure. We need democrats to combat corporatism.

They do such a fine job.

Which does not excuse the liberts as a far worse choice.

I will stay with the GOP, thank you.

From the Washington Times;

WASHINGTON, October 12, 2013 — The Republican Party was born in the darkest days of the American Republic.

In the next few days it will die.

The Republican Party saved the Union and abolished slavery. The Republican Party stood against Franklin Roosevelt’s internment of Japanese Americans during World War II and against Jim Crow laws in the 50’s.

On a hot summer day, the most famous Republican of the Twentieth Century stood before one of the great icons of tyranny, and over the objection of his cowardly, country club Republican advisors, Ronald Reagan demanded, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

In 1975, Reagan told conservatives to raise a banner of bold colors, not pale pastels. Today’s Republican banner is the colorless banner of John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender.

AND it will be REBORN as the TEA PARTY.

As soon as the Democrat LITES are ejected or made to GO to the DARK SIDE (Democrat STATIST/PROGRESSIVE) Side.

This REPUBLIC has NO ROOM for people that steal liberty...or those that pretend to be on the side of the people and their liberty.

Sorry ABE...YOU gave it a shot. Your baby didn't live.

It's about to be reborn in the spirit of The Constitution that they have strayed from.

Learn it, Live it, KNOW IT.

The Tea Party Republicans in the House shut down the government, and now they are threatening to send the country into default.

The Republicans wrecked the economy in 2008, and now they are going to do it again.

And that's the problem. Having lived in E.Texas, I agree with your assessment but disagree we should all be stuffed into the same mold. Most Texans feel very differently.

I'll be happy if the Tea Party splinters the right so that Progressives can finally fix America and control her debt.

With Republicans in charge of the House, they keep cutting Food Stamps as if $5 billion is going to fix our $17 trillion debt, and then they pat themselves on the back for a job well done and say rich people deserve tax cuts and that defense spending should go up!

They sure do talk a good talk about balancing the books, yet they do nothing but pass bills having to do with regulating women's vaginas, which is as spooky as it is creepy.

Both sides actually want to restore fiscal sanity, but Liberals understand better than Republicans that entitled people are Mitt Romney, Steve Forbes and Bill Gates, NOT poor people and single moms, who the Republicans keep going to for cash, as if they have any more to give!

The Republican Party is just flat out evil.

No.

Democrats don't hate the poor.

LOL, your right. They love the poor as long as they can use them to push their agenda.

I don't think Republians are evil, they're just not fit to govern at the moment.

I can't take anyone seriously if they come to me and say, "Let's cut Food Stamps and programs for poor people and let's pass more tax cuts for Mitt Romney and raise defense spending".

That's totally illogical.

We need serious adults to balance our books, and the GOTP just isn't serious.

Why did California go back into surplus this year? Because they don't have enough Tealiban members in their legislature to hold everything up from passing, like equal spending cuts with equal tax increases, like California did.

Without the Tea Party, California is back to normal again. This country can be too, and it will require the defeat of the Tea Party next year.

They sure did talk a good talk, but in the end they've done nothing but pass one bill after another trying to regulate women's vaginas and raise defense spending.

Yes, like Soros, Clinton and Kerry for the libs. But the reason why I don't mention them is that they already support a more fair tax system that requires a greater sacrifice from them.

So they're already the good guys, because they understand they should be paying at least the same rate that an electrician or a plumber pays, even if the Tealiban keeps wanting to give rich libs tax cuts.

No Democrats don't hate the poor, they despise them...

I have asked this time and again, please provide one piece of legislation that a Democrat has authored to help the poor? Just one...

And crutches are not valid...

Shutdown hits scientists hard, White House says

Posted by
CNN's Conor Finnegan

Washington (CNN) - Nearly two weeks into a government shutdown, cuts and furloughs are crippling much of America's scientific research.

The White House issued a statement Saturday detailing which programs were being hardest hit in an effort to drive home how damaging the shutdown has been.

"The federal government’s research agencies have been largely shuttered, with scientists sent home and projects shelved," it read. "There are five Nobel Prize-winning researchers currently working for the federal government, all of whom are world-renowned scientists and leaders in their field. Four of them are currently furloughed and unable to conduct their federal research on behalf of the American public due to the government shutdown."

Among the agencies mentioned, the National Science Foundation has had it the worst. Ninety-eight percent of its employees have been furloughed, and the organization has not issued any new scientific research grants. The NSF funds non-medical science and engineering research and education programs across the country.

WE're supposedly the leader within science and research. Want to give that to the Eu or China? Keep doing this fucking shut down or believe that government doesn't do anything.

Much of our advancement is a system of grants. South Korea, China, Most of Europe and even middle eastern countries do this.

To many dumb people that listens to fox news for everything are screwing this nation.

Much of infrastructure, science and tech are in fact done by private corps working with the government.

This is what makes us, south korea, Taiwan, China, Britain and much of the first world have high standards.

I am pro corporation as it is the best way for the government to do the science through...

Sequestration Ushers In A Dark Age For Science In America

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- On the first floor of Jordan Hall at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is a 12-by-8 room that, at first glance, looks like a rundown storage space. The floor is a mix of white, teal and purple tiles, in a pattern reminiscent of the 1970s. Trash cans are without tops and half filled. There are rust stains on the tiles, and a loose air vent dangles a bit from the ceiling.

It is only when you see four incubators attached to six tanks of carbon dioxide that you get the feeling something more intriguing is taking place here.

Inside these incubators Dr. Anindya Dutta stores cell cultures that he believes hold the key to a massive advancement in health care. He has identified the specific strands of microRNA, the molecule that plays a large role in gene expression, that are responsible for promoting the formation and fusion of muscular tissue.

The implications for such a discovery are tantalizing. People who suffer from diseases like muscular dystrophy would have easier treatments, and the elderly would fall less often and recover faster when they did. And so, as Dutta has me look into the microscope next to those carbon dioxide tanks, there is a notable hint of excitement in his voice.

Sequestration Ushers In A Dark Age For Science In America

The fucking tea party does everything in its fucking power to hand leadership to CHINA! You think you're doing good? You're nuts.

I support the corperate world and feel the extreme left is also nuts.

THE ONSLAUGHT OF BRAIN DRAIN

It's not just projects receiving NIH grants that have been set back by sequestration. Various other government agencies have seen their research budgets slashed as well. Early estimates from the American Association for the Advancement of Science projected that $9.3 billion would be cut from research and development projects in 2013 alone, including $6.4 billion from the Department of Defense.

Tom Antonsen and Phil Sprangle, two professors at the University of Maryland, said they've experienced funding shortages from the Defense Department that could hamper their work

"I can start off by saying one word: It's devastating," Sprangle said in a phone interview. "It's a disaster. I guess that's two words."

Yay, America collapses by the same people that loves to fly the flag!!! Taliban you're!
