So now They want to fix something else that they broke? The Patriot Act does not give the NSA the power to collect all these phone records. It specifically states that they have to get a warrant. And under what circumstances they can get the warrant...They have not been following the guidlines set up in the Pat Act......

The Patriot Act absolutely gives the government the power to do that. Obama didn't expand it, he's not using it against the original intent. It was created so the government could spy on anyone they wanted to without a warrant, and that's exactly how the government's using it.

That really doesn't make any sense. If the Democrats don't like the patriot act or portions thereof, they should have introduced a bill in the Senate to change it a long time ago.

I suggest that if the bill they are working on is passed, Obama will veto it.

Just so you will know, 98 Senators and 145 Democrat house members voted AYE for the Patriot Act in 2001. 89 Senators but only 24 Democrat house members voted to renew it in 2006.

98 US Senators voted for the original Patriot Act and 1 voted against it. The 1 that voted against it was replaced the next election.
