Much has been said and written about why and how the Democrats find themselves out of the White House, and in the minority in Congress. Not to mention State Houses. We all know the arguments, so let's focus on something else.

It's clear now that the Democrats' strategy for 2018 and 2020 is not to change any of their behaviors, whether you agree with them or not. The strategy is to bring Trump down as far as possible and then make those elections a simple referendum.

That was essentially the Republicans' strategy with Obama, and the Democrats can't be blamed for pointing at that and saying, "See? Let's just do that. It worked. And it's easier". That's where we are. That's where our politics are.

The press and the Democrats are going to minimize/avoid any positive developments in areas such as the economy, and they're going to focus on Trump and his behaviors.

So given that, why won't that work in 2018 and 2020?
.

The economy is Obamas....Look at a graph of the past 8 years to realize this.

Trumps policies are the same policies that crashed this country during the great depression and great recession. Of course, I am wrong as you'll say I am full of crap but please for one second look at the policies of Hover and George W bush. Both wanted deregulation and let the banks do things that they shouldn't have. What do you think Trump is doing?

Democrats' strategy for 2018;

kick back and let the GOP keep infighting and dividing itself while Trump destroys whats left of them.

The main one would be the system that hasn't given the US a new president with a majority of the votes since 1992.

Yes, it's been 25 years since a Republican not in office managed to get more votes than their counterpart.

And yet in this time the Republicans have managed to get HALF of the presidents.

Don't fuck around pretending it's because the Republicans somehow have the message of the people.

Interesting that you say the strategy is the same as used against Obama. If my memory serves, if that was the strategy, it didn't work against Obama.

I think when we see the two parties agreeing in public then we know we are finished. At least now they pretend not to be the two wings of the same bird.

You bring up a good point that shows how messed up is the democrat party. No one has campaigned in CA and NY in years, why? Because it is full of democrat voters. So in effect democrats have been spotted a really big lead, yet they lose. Thankfully the founders realized that one state could dominate and started the electoral college.

The person who is currently in the WH is the one who gets the credit or blame for the economy. For the good or the bad, the current economy is Trumps.

It begs the question of what's left of the Democrats. Seems to everyone they're a worn out husk of an organization whose only aim is to whine their way to success. Even with every imaginable institution lining up behind them, even the GOP, they managed to lose to one man.

I understand it's racist, but an empty barrel make the most noise.

Let's not ignore the elephant in the room. If the Republicans could get rid of Trump and successfully run someone else in 2020, they would. Most of them can't stand him either.

No, this isn't how messed up the Democratic Party is, it's how messed up THE SYSTEM IS.

In Presidential elections they only campaign in TWELVE STATES because all the others are basic certainties for one party or the other. In other words, the system says only 20% of the people get to decide who the president is. That's fucked up.

Democrats are simply what is wrong with Washington. Their only good at causing problems and pointing out what's wrong with their opponents. They aren't any good at governing or getting things done.
So if you want a shit-sandwich....vote for Democrats.

It would have meant so much more if you had started whining when the Beast was the sure-fire winner. Now it just comes off as butt hurt.

I heard republicans are trying to make cuts to Medicare and social security. Our plan is to let republicans screw America. That’s how we gain power back

They know cuts to medicare and social security are pure political suicide. Those will not be touched. Too many millions of people would be out on the street without them as not everyone makes a million dollars a year. There aren't enough high paying jobs for every adult. The working folk who make under 50 grand number in the high percentage. They vote and they will need their ss and Medicare.

Obama was a globalist/elitist. Wall Street never had a better friend in the White House than Obama...PERIOD.

Given how clueless people are, it can work. The MSM is simply not reporting on positive news, and twisting everything else to make it look worse. Take the example of the "Twisted handshake"..CNN on television and their website used the worst possible photo they could making the President look like a fool. Everyone else used normal photos. Take this - times 10 every single day. CNN's website is basically The Democrat platform for 2020.
