The gay couples' taxes help protect the bakery; Shouldnt the be allowed to shop in it

you think if this had been a Muslim bakery we would of ever heard about this story?

We have enemies within folks

My taxes help protect my neighbor's wife, shouldn't I be able to ....?

Nope. Because her taxes go to protect her from you.

BUT, more importantly..........did you really just equate a gay couple buying a cake....to raping your neighbors wife?

And right wingers wonder how they lost in 2012 against what otherwise was a failed 1st term president.

Indeed. I'm mocking your suggestion that paying taxes entitles you to the servitude of your neighbors.

My neighbor, also, is not a business.

Good Lord you people are idiots.

Paying taxes....or simple membership of the society in the United States....entitles one to all the same protections under the law as anyone else.

And as far as businesses go, we are entitled to protection against certain forms of discrimination by virtue of being on US soil.

So, if my local privately owned power company, SCE&G, who is our only power company, says "We do not believe in gay relationships, thus, we will not provide electricity to any gay couple's home because that would enable the sinning" it would be sued heavily and lose.

Even the radical Muslim encampment in Rock Hill, SC, is entitled to the right to purchase electricity, as they have not yet been found to be violating any laws. And their company, Duke Power, must oblige.

God Bless this country.

Print the shirts, that's your job.

No, its not. Not if the depicted image is highly vulgar or offensive by normal societal standards. That's actually written into SC law. I bet most states have that in their law.

Take some child porn down to your CVS and ask them to develop the photos. Tell them to do their job.

Stupidest comparison of the week! (And damn, does ANYONE still develop film anymore?)

Like I said before....now anyone can sue a business for not catering to their group.

The NRA wants to rent out some conference room/hotel for a GUN party/conference....you can't violate their rights by denying them business.

Some porn industry people want to rent out a facility for a porn shoot or porn conference....you can't deny them business.

If they aren't violating any criminal or zoning laws, have at it.

I believe in capitalism, too.

If I'm selling a product, and Hugh Hefner and Mother Teresa are both in line....both of them use green money!

Of course, you are scum of the earth.

You don't care if someone is against some porn shoot in their hotel or porn scum running wild through their hotel scaring off current guests and future guests.

Well this "scum of the Earth" still believes in one of the right wing's (supposed) beliefs: STATES RIGHTS.

Go back and read.......if you can read.......the part where I said "so long as it doesn't violate any law".

Well, the production of pornography is illegal in some states. So is distribution of it in some cities. Its why some cities have no porn shops. Zoning laws that ban it. I know in historic downtown Charleston, the 5-star hotels would never have to host that, because the City of Charleston has zoning laws and ordinances that wouldnt' allow a porn shoot or conference.

Vegas, however, would. Others allow it and welcome it.

SEE? States rights.......AND government regulation, working together.

Wow. Just blew your mind, huh?

Yep, I still use 35mm some, I like the quality of pics under many conditions I can get with it, usually for special occasions, like weddings.

The so-called bakery owned by the religious person who doesn't like gay people......is protected by local and state police and fire departments. Paid for by all the taxpayers.

So, that gay couple pays taxes, that in part go to the benefit of that bakery.

So, when that gay couple walks in and says "We'd like to buy a 3 layer chocolate cake please", and a straight couple walks in requesting the same type cake, and both couples are taxpayers, and the bakery benefits from police and fire protection funded in part by both couples' tax money............how can that baker refuse to service one couple with the SAME product as the other?

It has nothing to do with paying taxes.

It has to do with the fact that public accommodations laws are both constitutional and appropriate; where one cannot justify disobeying a just and valid law ‘because of his religion.’

Well, lets use a screen printing shop for example.

If a guy walked in and said "I want 50 red t-shirts with the Nazi logo on the front", I'd support 100% the owner saying no.

But a gay couple wanting to buy a standard cake for their wedding? Ridiculous. That baker is obligated to serve the customer.

And I feel obligated to tell you what a fucking moron you are. Shove your liberal nonsense

The tax argument? Sissie libs must be desperate. Taxes pay for the protection of Atomic Energy facilities. Should all taxpayers have free access? Taxes protect drug companies. Should all Americans be allowed to purchase the product? Shouldn't non-hip hicks have access to hip bars frequented by celebrities? They pay taxes.

they'll find any way they can to force themselves on the people in this country...

SO.......

A black couple walks into Outback and says "Hi, we'd like two steak dinners please."

The manager says "Get out, we don't serve *******."

You saying Outback shouldn't be sued?

What about the civil rights of Christians? The dirty little secret is that you can't identify a homosexual customer and nobody wants to. Religious owners of small businesses are forced to cater to the antics of a protected segment of society in contrast to their 1st Amendment right to their religious beliefs. Why should any small business be forced to serve overt sodomites and hairy men in dresses who disrupt customers?

Same reason they must serve kids with their pants sagging half off, hats turned backwards and gold chains on.

If they aren't breaking a law, they are free to dress how they want. God Bless America.

Its the same reason Outback cant deny service to a large table of black customers who might "disrupt" other customers.

We're a melting pot society. We all have to deal with each other.

Poor argument. My house is protected the same way. Am I supposed to let everyone in?

No, you are supposed to move into bucs' house.

Your house isn't a business dumbass. Its why OSHA doesn't come inspect it either.

You cant be this......nevermind. You are.

And that couple isn't paying business taxes, which shows how stupid your argument is.

Shitbag, take a look at the First Amendment.

Freedom of RELIGION and speech.

You can't force someone to support your cause with their voice or actions. You can't force someone to do an action to support your cause.

No business can discriminate based on someone "being gay" but they have the right to say they won't take part in a gay wedding.

Shut the fuck up, shitbag.

And then came the Civil Rights movement, and all the laws that came with it.

You don't have to "take part" by baking a damn cake and letting them carry it out the door.

Besides, that freedom shit only applies in private, right?
